BUT SILVA NEVER SAID 6th WAS ACHIEVABLE!esp when brands and silva said Europa league is the target this year.. unless the Europa positions go down to 17th were doomed
Kept the same side round October November that kept winning / went on an unbeaten run. Since we've been changing it round constantly we've struggled for consistency.
I do not think we have a good enough squad to be rotating players. We only have three or four genuinely quality players (Gomes, Zouma, Bernard, potentially Richarlison) Until we have more quality, we need to stick as close to the best side as possible imo.
Oh OK. It is just that you said a "large part of our fanbase" etc. This forum and every other forum is a miniscule number compared to the fanbase. So it is really the majority of posters on here who hold your opinion then.I'm generally speaking on behalf of the mass of posters on here who all agreed chasing Silva was dumb from the beginning. It doesn't change anything, it's just how it is. Not everyone wanted Silva. Is that so hard to believe?
Well, I think I've seen six decent signings, all of whom have improved the way we play Our style of play is also much better than it has been at any time since the first Martinez season - I think we were awful today, but there are too many knee-jerk reactions on here straight after a defeat. With no malice meant at all so I hope it doesn’t come across like it, what makes you think Silva is capable of building...well anything really?
I wish I had the same belief.
No changes are justified, besides how many times have we played a side that looked strong enough then gone out?But the thing is, all of our players look knackered.
It's all good saying 'pick a strong team' but any team we put out should be able to beat Lincoln.
Digne, Keane, Zouma, Richarlison, Gomes, Walcott. They all look shot and out of form. All of them really need to be dropped/rested.
And I know you'll complain if the sheet says 'seven changes' on Saturday, even though all of those changes will be justified and will be from a team that has just lost and is in no form at all.
Knackered ?
Out of form ?
We scored 5 less than a week ago.
I'd say Digne is the only one who isn't out of form or in desperate need of a rest. Zouma deffo doesn't need resting. The rest need dropping though before even considering resting them
Needs showing the door now stop waiting till this time next year,
In all fairness pal I'm talking tongue in cheek. I have no idea how many people felt the same as me, but there is and was enough of those with a shared opinion to know that I wasn't alone in it.Oh OK. It is just that you said a "large part of our fanbase" etc. This forum and every other forum is a miniscule number compared to the fanbase. So it is really the majority of posters on here who hold your opinion then.
Why not? Salah, firmino and mane have all started Liverpool's last three games and will almost certainly start again on Thursday. And when you have four games in eight days, that's just not possible, unfortunately.
No changes are justified, besides how many times have we played a side that looked strong enough then gone out?
He can't risk it.
I'm not sure how to gauge it but probably if it came to what happened in the end with Martinez - i.e. it being clear the players have lost faith. I really don't see that happening.
He shouldn't - and i don't think he will - go anywhere this season. If we've had a poor season in terms of a finish (like 11th/12th/13th) then the pressure will obviously be on... rightly so.
