Marcel Brands appointed Phillip Coco and probably had a say in Mark van Bommel getting the job there.

I dont see how people think he wouldnt be onboard in selecting Marco Silva, a manager who fits his profile of young "promising" manager.
He might of been on board, but he had to be given the timing. With them both starting in the same month, there's no way Brands picked Silva, he was already lined up.

I dont think there's 'simpatico' there. I dont see Silva as Brands' choice. If true, that could easily lead to a situation where the DoF can block reinforcements and see a manager out the door.

Moshiri chose Silva. There's no use denying that. To say that Brands was ok with that prior choice is reaching for it a bit.

Moshiri choose him, im not denying that, im just saying that Brands was ok with it.

Brands is aware we are a "project" that will take many years to bear fruit, hence I didnt see him going for somebody like Pellegrini for example, who is not somebody "for the future".

Silva is very young in manager terms.

You need to check AVBs prem record.

It is very good. I think it's on par with Pochettino over 3 years.

Around 46% win rate.

Wow.. that is surprising. Though at some point during the 54% of losses I’m sure Allardyce beat him 3-0 at home, and after the match declared it due to his tactical genius.

Time is a flat circle.

Now come on, he was certainly okay with it. He's the D of F, he can fire Silva if he wants. He's not out there getting players in complete isolation, he's finding players that meet what Silva needs. That being said, I'm sure Brands is comfortable with what Silva is trying to do, or else he'd be gone.

Dont think it’s Marcos fault that our lot couldn’t create a chance from open play if their life depended on it.

Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Bernard, Walcott, all creative on huge wages. He can’t force them to create a chance any more than you or I can, and there’s no way he doesn’t work on it in training.

We’ve got a weird thing where expensive well paid players seem to turn a bit average when they sign for us.

IMO, if Brands had come in without the prior interest in Silva I doubt he;d have been on a short list of his. I think he;d go for someone like van Bronckhorst/Cocu.

We are creating chances mate, now I realise stats are misleading and some of these shots wont be worthy of the name, but I wish I could compare those numbers with last season for example.

Yesterday we struggled to break down Leicester as such, we always struggle when teams put a good shield in place, but to be honest 90% of it was just terrible passing and a complete lack of movement. A very tired performance, I get fatigue, but it wasnt fatigue.

'Ok' is not 'simpatico'.

Quite surprised that Coco moved so soon after he left and without doubt it was Moshiri pushing for Silva, I just dont consider Brands to be a yes man myself, if he didnt want him, we wouldnt have him.

...Walsh was quoted as saying new signings could be identified by the DoF or Manager but only pursued if both parties agreed. I imagine something similar is in place, although I get the impression Brands weals the power. Also, I recall Brands sanctioning the Silva acquisition ahead of the appointment.

Don’t think he’s backed a donkey. I think he is the donkey. He has assembled a lot of the current first team and is failing to motivate or at least get the best out of the team. Maybe he’s not the thoroughbred we thought we were getting.
You know what thou mate if you're a professional footballer lucky enough to play for Everton you should never need some one else to motivate you these players need to get there head out there arses if any of us were lucky or good enough to play and you could see problems we would run through a brick wall to put it right .let hope it starts on Saturday we need a good cup run COYB

I think Brands plays the long game: "If the Silva fixation of the man who pays my wages doesn't work out, I'll get my choice in. If it does work out, fine".
