It’s hard isn’t it mate, I wasn’t happy with the silva appointment. I would have took Pellegrini or Mancini, both have won trophies in the last 5 years and have that know how of taking sides far in cup competitions and I think the name of either in terms of respect in the market would go in our favour. Time will tell, Bournemouth is a tough game.
Pellegrini is Doin no better at west ham..we will win a few and lose a few.
No consistency. Won't win the cup either as we won't beat the top sides.

I'm sorry, has Silva not won trophies in the last five years?

But beyond that, I agree both Pellegrini and Mancini are good managers, although Mancini wasn't amazing at Zenit and Inter.

As far as I can tell, he had 3 great years at Estoril then:
Sacked after a year at Sporting
Walked away from Olympiakos after a year
Walked away from Hull after half a season
Sacked by Watford in his first season

Like most people I didn’t follow Estoril’s 2012-13 season closely, so I actually have no idea what Silva’s teams look like in year 2 or whether he’ll be around to show us. This new era at Everton continues to need a fair bit of imagination even if you’re an optimist!

He is doing well with West Ham, they started off slow at the start of the season but they are starting to play some good stuff. They look far more promising than a Marco silva side. They came to goodison an rolled us 3-1 not bad showing mate.

Here it is: from Paul Joyce today

Hull claimed 17 points from their first 11 matches under Silva as he sought to implement his ideas, raising hopes of avoiding relegation. But instead of momentum being maintained, they collected four points from the remaining seven games and slipped through the trapdoor. He headed for the exit with them.

At Watford, it was 21 points from 13 games and then five from the next 11, something his employers back then blamed on Everton’s unwanted advances. Now, at Goodison Park, Silva has taken 18 points from his first 11 matches as manager and nine from the next ten.

It is a pattern which promotes the notion that Silva’s methods and preferred style of play are quite quickly worked out by opponents.

It could also be that the players have burnt out quickly, which is a worry, mainly because he doesn't seem to trust his squad enough to play the back up brigade (and, in all honesty, when they have played, they've hardly impressed).

He won the Greek league, and a cup in Portugal. Don’t compare silva with two managers who’ve had better success, even Pellegrini built a solid side with Villarreal with limited resources.

They were awful tonight. And no, they don't.

I have reported on their last two games. They were dreadful at Burnley and only looked good today after going 2-0 down and throwing everything at Brighton. They have a good goalscorer in Arnautovic and a decent playmaker in Anderson, who was off his game today and on Sunday against Burnley.

They spent more than we did in the summer.

Well, we will see for the first time in his spell in England what pattern emerges thereafter. Will it be another upswing or will the form continue to be a troubling one?

If the DoF sees that pattern at 3 clubs he asks his manager one thing: "What can I do to help you here? Name it, and I'll try to the best of my ability to get it done".

...and that has to be to find him, this month, a striker worthy of the name and a quality right sided player.

There's six teams from 7th - 13th who are all as rank average as each other.

Two of those teams have very good strikers - Leicester and West Ham. But all are inconsistent.

Think Crystal Palace should be in that mix too. The six below that are the real dross.

They are one point ahead of us in 10th.
Lost to Burnley at the weekend.
He is Doin no better really in fairness

We’ve won 2 in 9. They are above us, had more injuries than us and outplayed us at goodison. Anyway as I said my opinion, I think as the season goes on they’ll improve finish top 8 they’ve a manager who’ll improve them tactically as the season goes on, silva has shown with hull and Watford struggles with adapting a different approach when sides work him out.

Well Palace are currently four points behind Brighton who are 13th, so that's why i put the gap there, but yeh I agree

Not a chance we should be in with these teams but no question that we are for the time being. The standard is really poor. Hence why the top teams are looking like they can clock up 100+ points.

By one point.
Time will tell sur. 3 of the their last 4 games they lost to Burnley, Watford at home and drew with Brighton.
Not a team showing massive improvement either is it.
And they spent a lot of money in the summer.. Including bringin pellegrini out of his retirement home in China
