Here it is: from Paul Joyce today

Hull claimed 17 points from their first 11 matches under Silva as he sought to implement his ideas, raising hopes of avoiding relegation. But instead of momentum being maintained, they collected four points from the remaining seven games and slipped through the trapdoor. He headed for the exit with them.

At Watford, it was 21 points from 13 games and then five from the next 11, something his employers back then blamed on Everton’s unwanted advances. Now, at Goodison Park, Silva has taken 18 points from his first 11 matches as manager and nine from the next ten.

It is a pattern which promotes the notion that Silva’s methods and preferred style of play are quite quickly worked out by opponents.
Have we discovered another fraud?
Never learn...

The guy has only been in the job for a few months. You can't completely overhaul the style of play in such a short space of time. He's also inherited a pretty limited squad of players, albeit I actually do think they're a hardworking bunch.

who'd have guessed it hey....

As far as I can tell, he had 3 great years at Estoril then:
Sacked after a year at Sporting
Walked away from Olympiakos after a year
Walked away from Hull after half a season
Sacked by Watford in his first season

Like most people I didn’t follow Estoril’s 2012-13 season closely, so I actually have no idea what Silva’s teams look like in year 2 or whether he’ll be around to show us. This new era at Everton continues to need a fair bit of imagination even if you’re an optimist!

his highlight is in the portuguese 2nd division. getting promoted and then getting 6th..

being the 6th best Portuguese team is not even equatable to trying to get Everton FC into the premier league elite.

and for the record I could win the greek league with Olympiacos.

steve mcClaren has won the dutch league with an unfashionable team, but we didn't clamber for him, hell he was even England manager !

marco Silva literally has ZERO credentials and we are getting what was offered. a relegation battle beckons, just like it did for Watford last year before they saw sense and replaced him witth a manager who knows a thing or two

Europe is the expectation.

Martinez didn’t achieve Europe under Moshiri - Sacked.

Koeman never looked like making the European places - Sacked.

Allardyce finished 8th - Sacked.

I think it’s pretty clear that we demand Europe, and so we should.

Martinez was sacked because the squad and fanbase had pretty much all lost faith.

Koeman was sacked because see above. Maybe it was premature?

Allardyce didn't get sacked because he finished 8th. He got sacked because he wasn't the man to take this club forward and would put us back another few years had he stayed in charge.

So no, it's not that they didn't get Europe.

So we have gone backwards. Under Moyes Everton finished 5th-7th in most cases. 7 times in 10 full seasons. Martínez got 5th once then slipped. Koeman 7th BFS 8th when he took over on 30 Nov last year.
Other teams have improved. We have stood still.. We will still finish 7-9 th this season. But we are not closing the gap. And barring the odd year we haven't looked likely

And one team outside that 6 who won the league a few years ago. Used to be a big 4. Now it’s a big six.

Also, the likes of Palace, Stoke, Hull, Wigan, Villa, Southampton, Cardiff, Birmingham, Swansea, Bradford and even Sunderland reaching domestic cup finals in recent years too.

But yeah, might as well give up.
Never said give up.. People are suggesting here we sack a manager because we aren't in the top 6 or pushing top 4.
Results the last 10 years for us suggest that this is rarely the case.

They were all sacked as a consequence of results not being up to the required standard. Our minimum standard is Europe, whatever way you try to spin it.

If Silva doesn’t produce the results to meet our minimum standard, he’ll be sacked.

Moshiri has already sacked managers with far better CVs than Silva.

He needs to stop coming out with the feeble excuses of tiredness, nerves, How aboout poor player selection, tactics?

I f you look on the Old Everton Pictures thread the bit I put in about Burnley and Everton played back to back on consecutive days, back then not pansies like we have now.

Martinez did to be fair.

In all honesty I don't think were playing much differently to last year.

There is a little more intensity to win the ball back high up the pitch but it's not consistent, And we aren't hoofing it out of the first sight of danger to avoid leaking goals.

other than that we're just as pants as last year to watch so far

My worry is that this guy is Moshiri's boy. He's the one he wanted for ages (I don't know why either!).

My fear is that if Silva does prove to be a failure (and let's hope he isn't), Moshiri will give him more time.

Possibly the only thing he has going for him at the minute.

Hopefully now that the hectic festive fixtures are over he has some time to work on our defensive weaknesses and wastefulness in the box, as opposed to the constant preparation for games.
