People moaning about a £10m transfer fee for a manager seem to be forgetting that sum of money won’t even get you a decent player any more. The manager is the most important person in the team ffs.

It's the principal.

Silva flops after one season and goes, who do we go for? Pretty sure of we're going to pinch another manager from a club, £10mill will be the bar set.

Not forgetting he's done nothing really to warrant that price.

But the point is that there are proven big name managers out there that would could get, funny enough, cheaper.

Paying Watford £10mill and Silva £3mill a year...surely it's better to go to Ancelloti and go "hows £10mill a year sound bud?"

God.. How do you know we haven't? We don't know if we have or haven't tried for the likes of him or tuchel. As usual us evertonians know best lol

Basically everyone is jibbing us off. Think about that for a minute. If media reports are to be believed we've approached fat Sam, Silva, Dyche, and Nuno.

Screams a) desperation b) club without a plan c) "Why would I go there"

It also requires a particular kind of ferret to drop his current club mid season. You're talking Steve Bruce and David Moyes territory.

The situation is not good. All we want is clarity about who we'll be booing all season.

I doubt very much that with the wages being offered many people would jib us off. Perhaps the likes of Tuchel, Simeone yes...but no way would Dyche, Sam or Silva turn us down...in the case of Silva it appears he's interested but Watford are fighting to keep hold

Don't quite agree. Managers will switch clubs to advance their career at any time they can, same as a player would. Especially if you're at a club like Watford who hire and fire every five minutes. A managers career could be over in six months at the top levels, so they rightly capitalise when they can.

The problem is actually your first points - I think any manager with a brain would look at Everton, note Moshiri's antics with Jim White, look at our transfer activity properly and conclude that the whole 'project' here is a complete and total sham.

Bridges have been burned with Allardyce - and most likely with Dyche also now that he knows he was FOURTH choice at best.

You don’t know this

Nobody knows anything, including the press. It's all guesswork.

“It never materialised as I thought it would, unfortunately,” Allardyce told broadcaster Talksport.

“For me such a long time without a decision, I had to make a decision myself. The decision was it was probably better it wasn’t me, and I’d move on to something else. It would have been a fabulous job, but it just didn’t feel right.

Because we're going balls out to get Silva while the other bigger names have barely been mentioned or leaked in the press.

Which says to me, we haven't even bothered with them.

Remember you are dealing with Watford here - Jokanavic's reward for leading the Hornets to automatic promotion in May 2015 was the offer of a £1,000 (yes £1k a week) pay rise.

Obviously, Jokanovic knew he was not wanted and left to be replaced by Flores who was already lurking in the background.

Loyalty works two ways.

How would that be cheaper though? Say we're offering a 4 year contract (on the basis that Martinez got 5 years and Koeman 3, i'm splitting the difference) £10m a year is £40m, £10m plus £3m a year is £22m. Not only is it not cheaper, it's almost twice as expensive.

Sorry mate but it's your guess work there's no evidence we have or we haven't and the papers print anything to sell them. How many times do papers get sued? Often therefore that's telling why.
