If it has to be Silva, then I don't want us paying a single penny to Watford until we get a solid binding commitment from them that they're going to pack in their shameful thievery of Z-Cars.

Before Wenger came to Arsenal he'd only won 1 league in France and a cup and a few cups in Japan and he's seems to have done OK here. Silva has won a few leagues and a few cups he was just unlucky to get Hull and Watford I cannot see Wenger would have done much with them either.

....i think it’s important not to look at these managers in isolation. Whoever comes in will be working in tandem with Bland and a lot is dependent on how that partnership works. They need to be like minded to ensure a joined-up, integrated approach to a playing strategy and recruitment of players.

The partnership is an unknown factor.
