I went the game. I saw fight from the team at certain points and a bit of flair here and there, but when it came down to the crunch, when the team had to stand up and be counted, they crumbled as usual. Because they're gutless.

"We made them look ordinary" meaning we had loads of position, played tippy-tappy football but ultimately wilted away under pressure as the game wore on.

The manager is crap but I'm not giving these players a pass anymore. They're just as responsible for our current position as Silva is.
I can see why you would say that but I think the difference between winning and losing comes largely down to confidence, you believe that you will win and more often than not you will, if you don' have that real belief then it can go against you.
I think Klopp, Guardiola, Rodgers have their teams believing they will win every game. We don't have that belief and if we fall behind in a game then it is lost.

I genuinely believe it come down to the manager.

As much as I hate to say it but if Klopp were our manager we would be top six at worst.

....we are in a mess but I doubt a sacking is imminent. i think Silva is lacking but from what I saw yesterday, he still has the players on his side, there’s nothing I see that suggests he’s lost the dressing room. I feared for us yesterday but we were competitive.

i wonder if the Board actually don’t want Unsworth as a caretaker, given how bad things got last time. They have few temporary options and might as well leave Silva in charge in case he can turn things around (he has a record of really good runs of results and really bad runs of results) and whilst they line up a permanent replacement.

Rallying cry incoming! But who will it come from this time? We've had Sigurdsson, Pickford and Coleman in recent weeks... maybe roll out Baines to explain the importance of sticking together?
<insert name> : We as a club and fan base must stick together I <insert name> apologies for our recent performance and will try to do better against <insert team> on <insert day>

See this is the attitude I don’t get, if the players go into hiding they get called out for being cowards afraid to speak yet when anyone does come out and say something they still get mocked and lambasted. They can’t win

Sick of hard luck stories it's not bad luck when it happens every week he's tactically naive and has the inspiration of a wet fish. There's a reason we never come back from behind and capitulate when we look like we have a result.

Because what they say is rubbish, they need to show it

But doesn't that worry you? We were competitive and still lost? That points to deep problems with his tactics and substitutions as well as the mentality he instils into the players? We can't come from behind and we can't hold onto a result under this manager, he must go!

Repeating myself on all threads here, Silva should be sacked but its not just his fault.
Director of football model hasnt worked since day one. We have put around £300m into this DoF model, sacked one, second isnt working, three managers and one interim, nobody has a clue what to do with the players and we are weaker now than three years ago, know why?
Because the manager doesnt pick his own team to fit his own ideas. The DoF does.

Wonder why Marco doesnt know what to do with Kean and Iwobi? Because he didnt want them. Koeman had the same issue with walsh buying 3-4 attacking midfielders and being told to sort it on the pitch.

Not just slating brands for everything but the model really is flawed, hence why bringing moyes in wouldnt work to 'save us'.
