Because what they say is rubbish, they need to show it

Which brings me to another point, had they all thrown in the towel yesterday and got a hiding, they would have been accused of not playing for their manager yet when they’ve actually pulled it together against West Ham, Southampton and yesterday for the majority of the game, showing they are playing for the manager they get zero credit. There were some actually annoyed that we had scored

It’s a results business and if they are paying the penalty for previous embarrassments now, then so be it.

Repeating myself on all threads here, Silva should be sacked but its not just his fault.
Director of football model hasnt worked since day one. We have put around £300m into this DoF model, sacked one, second isnt working, three managers and one interim, nobody has a clue what to do with the players and we are weaker now than three years ago, know why?
Because the manager doesnt pick his own team to fit his own ideas. The DoF does.

Wonder why Marco doesnt know what to do with Kean and Iwobi? Because he didnt want them. Koeman had the same issue with walsh buying 3-4 attacking midfielders and being told to sort it on the pitch.

Not just slating brands for everything but the model really is flawed, hence why bringing moyes in wouldnt work to 'save us'.
I see your point and certainly there have been issues with it. But all the top teams have DOFs the difference is they have quality managers with big personalities who demand what they want in new players.

Doing the bare minimum and putting a modicum of effort in is not “being behind the manager”.

When it counted they all hid again...

Didnt do to bad yest against a team flying. But its another defeat. Another late defeat like brighton. So is he very niave. Would a better manager have seen and acted. He cant stop errors like davies but could he act before it. I thought davies was knackered and it was an error coming. Is he always going to be that type who doesnt prevent stuff like that with tactical moves.
He looked crushed yest. I dont dislike him. But he will get us relegated. Either this or next season..

sick of hearing "the players are playing for him"

are they ye, since when?

we have lost like 70% of games this season, everyone making out we done amazing yesterday when we got beat anyway, Leicester aren't even that good.

sack him today and get someone in to give us a chance, I don't think he would relegate us just because how poor some of the other teams are but we should be doing far far better

But doesn't that worry you? We were competitive and still lost? That points to deep problems with his tactics and substitutions as well as the mentality he instils into the players? We can't come from behind and we can't hold onto a result under this manager, he must go!

....that’s where Silva’s lacking. I saw Davies running back towards his goal with 15mins to go and thought he was spent. He was ragged and his passing (which is often poor) was awry. He took a quick free kick but over hit a simple pass down the line which went out for a goal kick. Silva should have made that change.

He’s tactically naive, but i wouldn’t assume Unsworth would give the team a lift. Indeed, things could get worst. I‘m not against making a change, but we need somebody who gives the team momentum. Allardyce gave us that and got us comfortably beyond the 20 points at Christmas benchmark.
