And i posted at the time. And had lots of responses. That those results were just as much to do with how poor utd arsenal and chelsea were.
Maybe but the truth is when teams come onto us we find it easier to hit them. We struggle to break down low block defences. That being said I am not sure we are at the standard to do as well as last year against them at home, we aren't as tight at the back and without Gana and Zouma who we miss so much. The point remains we need to sort ourselves out if we give a performance against city, even if we get beat it could reignite our season.

"Be Everton" is the thing we should NEVER aim to be. The culture of mediocrity flows through the veins of EFC. Kenwright's tenure had no other aim that to attempt to "punch above our weight"/knives to gunfights. Moshiri seems to have just embraced that. From a "world-class stadium" to a "decent stadium of 52k". How is 52k capacity gonna bridge the gap?
From Witsel and Mata as Year 1 targets to Bolasie and Schneiderlin. From selling Stones, Barkley, Deulofeu and Lukaku to replacing them with Williams, Sigurdsson, Bernard and no-one.

The old slogan "once everton has touched you"... actually means you are now infected by mediocrity :(
Savage truth there

Isn't it also about movement? If we don't have movement then players won't slip them in as as and much keep going sideways, as much as it might be Silva's tactic to go wide?

It's all down to the training. They should know who makes runs, who's dropping deep and where to position themselves in a different scenarios. When they don't know, they just play it safe, which is out wide and cross.

I honestly think if we do go down at some point it wouldnt be a disaster (stadium aside if not sorted by then).

1. It will see the end of chancers like Kenwrong and Moshiri who will be chased out of town.

2. It will get us away from the fixation with Liverpool and having them doing so well in the league will hurt us less

3. It might actually give the fans something to look forward to - one of my mates is a Newcastle fan and he said their stints in the championship were the best he's had supporting them in the last decade or so - winning most games, playing against proper old school clubs etc.

Obviously winning the fizzy pop league or play offs wouldn't be celebrated that much by the majority of our fans who think as a club we are above those achievements (and rightly so) however it would atleast give the younger fans like my little lad the chance to see us lift something which most clubs outside of Everton in the football league have done in the last 20 years or so (win something or promotion to a higher division).

Im just fed up of this constant state of purgatory of the board having just enough ambition to finish 8-11th and 1 season in 5 or so that we come 7th we likely struggle the season after.

Its become too predictable and im
Frankly fed up of this club and league in general.
So you slate the club for lack of ambition, and your ambition is playing in or winning the championship?

Ridiculous post from a ridiculous poster, and that's me being polite.

Nope I said it wouldnt be a disaster and listed the reasons why so.

Not once did I say it would be good for the club - more that if it did happen then its not the end of the world.

As I said what have we achieved whilst Villa were out of this league? What exactly have Villa fans missed out on? Atleast their young fans who weren't old enough to see them win titles and trophies have seen their side lift something at Wembley regardless of how small in the grand scheme of things it was. Im sure our young fans will be forever happy hearing tales of their da and grandad seeing their club win stuff decades ago whilst experiencing nothing themselves but false dawns and derby humpings.

But carry on frothing over nothing mate :coffee:

Correct....it was absolutely clear that we needed another central defender and proven centre forward....look what happened....its like we are skirting round the edges....without any real commitment to really making things better

I'll rejoice the day this bugger is booted out of GP

Never hated a manager anywhere near the level of this bloke.

Most dour, one dimensional, boring, uninspiring appointment since Walker.

To make things worse once we sack him Sams media acolytes will be giving the "what do Everton fans want" crap.

Cheers Silva

If you truly believe this then you are at a level of clueless I've never seen before on here, which is some going

No im just not a raging queen thinking the world ends should we ever not be in this league finishing 8-11th every season.

Since the 90's EFC are just another club making up the numbers- we hoped Moshiri would change that but he's happy plodding along appointing midtable managers to keep us treading water never achieving anything or growing as a club.

Outside the top 6 clubs any side going down wouldnt be a disaster in the grand scheme of things.

Outside of the PL fanboys most would still be following us up and down the country and the tv money means we wouldnt be in financial trouble.

Yes it would be embarassing and a disgrace but thats about it - Aston Villa are a similiar sized club and went down years ago and are only 3 points behind us whilst we have done nothing during their time out the division - hardly been a disaster of epic proportions to them has it.

You do realize that aside from the meager parachute payments to relegated teams for the first 3 years, none of the premier league TV money goes to teams outside of the teams actually in the premier league don't you...

it would seem you do not.

Which is why you don't think it would be a disaster.

And is also why you are horrifically incorrect
