Well it's not working now and we are the worst defense in the league, teams are doing their homework on us and queuing up in our box to score at set pieces.

We had a good period defensively towards the back end last season but over his entire time here our defending has been generally wank.

I think Keane is a major problem, he's a very poor defender.

I picked up on this last season but what exactly is the Echo's deal with Silva?

They constantly defend him and do everything to take pressure off him- is it directed from the club to not fan flames or are the reporters like Jones and Kirkbride just dooey eyed fan boys of his?

Dave, the issue here is that at all the PL clubs he has managed have had an atrocious record at defending set pieces. Blame the players all you like, it's not them.

This is a case of causation, not correlation, as you'd probably want to argue. As the saying goes, if the hat fits...

Silva needs to go now 2 week break to get somebody in. relegation scrap for us if things don't change and he has No idea no plan b how to change things on the pitch and no balls to drop underperforming personnel. When do you see him directing players from the touchline giving them orders or a telling off he stands arms folded scowling. If the opposition score 1st were lucky to get a draw, we can't do basics right. Sigurdsson seems to be non existent if that's down to Silva's instruction on what positions to take up.if that's the player himself he needs dropping and the manager should grow a pair and drop him
