Martinez: Everton players fear Goodison Crowd

He's building a young talented squad here. We're knocking at the door of a cup final and are midtable.

You can be 100% sure that the club hierarchy aren't having the same conversation about the manager as these forums are having. Just like this time last season it isn't even registering with them. And rightly so. They watched what happened then so they know there's no panic whatsoever.

What was that then??

Final straw? How do you mean?

Would hazard a guess that it's because Martinez isn't actually being seen to be doing something, moreso, he doesn't recognise the concerns a growing number of supporters are getting.

Martinez isn't handling the growing situation at all well. To an extent it is understandable being stubborn in a mindset in how he wants to develop his playing side, his philosophies etc, but he appears to be subtley goading the supporters with an air of arrogance. He needs the supporters on his side and each time he speaks he really needs to let go of the shovel.

Midtable safety. That's what they're arsed about at the end of the day. They''ll stick rather than twist. Quite right too. A few tweaks in terms of personnel and the whole thing clicks into gear again.

Hand this Martinez created machine onto someone else and they'll destroy it.

What makes you believe he will achieve anything but mid table Davek?

It's not a small blip we are talking about, It's 18 months of poor performances with the occasional good game thrown in to give us false hope that we are turning a corner

I'd be surprised if both Lukaku and Stones were still here come the start of next season. Our criminal underachieving will cost our young talented squad dear. Hopefully Barkley and Deulofeu are happy to stick around a while longer.

He did the same last season IIRC. I think he's very respectful of the crowd and what they can do to boost our chances. He's spot on, btw. The players are playing with fear at home. The crowd got to them last season and they're doing the same now. They have a ridiculous attitude. Compare that with the away support they get and the different outcome.

In our terms they are the movers and shakers. They call the shots, unless that's changed and they're now hiring and firing managers like the x-factor.

...nothing like the X-Factor mate I don't think, it's my understanding they get shut of most of the one trick ponies early doors on that?

If we lose to City and Newcastle imho it would mean he would have lost the dresser.

City you would expect a loss mate, They rarely get beaten at home so I wouldn't read to much into us not getting a result

Newcastle on the other hand is a game we should be dominating and it will be interesting to see what reaction and attitude the players have, I think it will tell us alot about the state of things between manager and players

Same thing happens away, though. Chelsea, Norwich, Bournemouth, prime examples.

If they're not here its because they dont want to be playing in a stadium where the home fans dont support them.

If it were me and I wasn't an Evertonian I'd be off in a shot if this kept up. These players can do without the hassle and they'll get big offers to persuade them to leave it behind. That'd be a big ploy in other club's strategy to win them away: remind them of their own playing environment and say: "d'you really want to put up with that for another three seasons?"

No matter what Martinez chats you just agree with it.
