Roberto's just making the tea, Dave. A stuffed shirt who can babble platitudes to the media after Hazard, De Bruyne, and Witsel have done the real work of managing the team's performance. Most of us have probably experienced similar at work, where a charlatan boss appears from nowhere and everyone just inwardly grits their teeth and makes sure he's kept away from touching anything actually important. When they do come up against adversity in Russia then yeah, they'll be wishing they got someone in who could do a job for them.
What will be interesting is when / if Kompany comes back. Vincent fancies himself as a leader of men and is unlikely to tolerate a comedian like Roberto in the chair.
