Going to take a wild guess here and say you're German ;-)

Sorry mate, but any competitive game is better than a 'money spining' friendly.

exactly, these games aren't competitive. Only two tournaments count: Euros (or equivalent Americas/Asia/African tournaments) & World Cup...and the qualifiers to get there. The rest is glorified money-spinning exhibition guff.

Big game tonight - would like to eavesdrop on Roberto and Ronnie's after match chat!

Wouldn't qualify it as a big game any more atm. Used to be. Nowadays it's all very friendly ... Typical friendly and a bunch of them complaining in the run-up that they are chronically fatigued (I can understand that; too many games for them etc...). Haven't even watched the game, the last time in Amsterdam was just a bland 1-1 (Klaassen goal !) and I felt cheated. Shame for those who paid 50 € minimum.

Atm I'm more interested in how Tielemans' former agent Henrotay managed to bag a 6.2 mil € commission (the player was completely unaware) on a 26 mil transfer (+- 27 percent because he also gets a cut on the salary). What an absolute mess. Luckily he's (well one of his foreign companies) still "owed" a part of the commission and everything has been blocked.

Derbies used to be interesting:

They are a way into the play offs for the Euros so by their very nature are competitive. Just been to 2 in the last few days and I can assure you they were.

these 'Nations' League' international games are pointless, glorified friendlies.

I disagree here mate. For the Dutch; Germany-Holland is still a very big game. Doesn't matter if it's a friendly or not. They still take huge proud in beating the former "enemy". I think it's ridiculous, but okay. It also involves primitives using the derogatory term for Germans; "moffen" (translates in something like Huns).

aye, i get that...i'm a tournament Germany fan tho' not a full-time fan, and i've been spoilt as apart from this last World Cup we've always reached at least the quarters of the real tournaments, and very often the semis & final. So anything outside of the Big Two Tournaments is just pointless exhibition for me, even if it's games against perceived rivals like Holland, Italy or England.

For in 20 years time, no one will talk about who beat who in the Nations' League...but we all vividly remember the Holland-Germany games in '88 & '90, or the England-Germany games from '90, '96 & '10.

Watched England v Spain last night and just sat with a load of Welsh fans watching the ROI game and your telling me they are not competitive? Ok mate.

Yes but it still provides a lot of "entertainment" for Dutch fans who are now boasting that it's extra sweet because they've beaten the Germans etc... Those games never really take place in a somewhat friendly atmosphere; like recently the spitting U20 player. Belgium winning from the Netherlands, in a friendly, or the reverse wouldn't produce the same effects.

For future tournaments you should be alright, nowhere near as bad as after Euro 2000.
