The Roberto deniers: we now have a Roberto-type manager back in the Goodison seat. This is his legacy. We tried reverting back to the hoofball (sorry, "pragmatism") after he was sacked. That was a disaster and now we go back to playing football on the deck and with pacey counter-attacking away from home.

The culture war was fought and you lot lost. We're not going back to your beloved long ball. It's over for you lads. Roberto's time here reminded everyone why the club was called the School of Science. The genie is back out of the bottle and it doesn't go back in.

Disliking Roberto is not the same as disliking passing football Dave. There are plenty of managers around the world who both encourage passing play and still organize a team well enough to not concede goals all the time. And for the record we've had more effective periods of pressing in 10 games under Silva than we did in 3 seasons of Roberto.

Silva is some way off trying to emulate his mentor though in terms of blistering counter-attacking.
