Bainsey blotted his copybook by conspiring, (in cahoots with Capt Jags), against Bobby. Roscoe's fall from grace was a completely different affair...he goosed a Merseyside gangsta's kopite supporting ma and was 'ordered' to get out of town. If Bobby hadn't been sacked by the carpet-bagger, I suspect things might have gone differently. Blue Bill bears a lot of guilt as well.
Bobby was phenomenal; he had us playing like a team from Camelot...
Barkley had to push the pram a lot.

"Achievements".

Lol.
Mate 72 points in a one off year is an achievement for you, so I can claim the turning around of a club in danger of sinking into a consistent top half team, regular trips to Europe, as such. To deny he did a fantastic job, albeit had reached a fiscal and talent limit, is just revisionism, and frankly, embarrassing.

I've never denied that Moyes steadied the club. He brought discipline. And it has to be said he had a very decent net spend up to 2009 (which I've highlighted a few times on here) in order to accomplish that. He just wasn't a good coach. He continued to rely on the same play it safe formula because he wasn't a manager who could coach or encourage players to get on the ball and become more adventurous. He's a dinosaur and that's why he sunk like a stone when he left Everton.

Anyone who doesn't have it, should get a copy of James Corbetts Everton an oral history. It's basically the history of Everton, as told by the people who took part in it.There's some good reading on it, about the latter days of the Martinez era as well.Roberto said in the book, that despite everything he will always be an Everton fan, that he will always look out for their results. It went wrong in those last two seasons, but the players let him down as well.He was a flawed manager, but there's no doubt about it, Roberto Martinez is one of lifes good guys.

He won coach of the year, first foreigner to do that. He had stiff competition this year tbf. Especially since the coach of the hockey team managed to win the world title, and another one won the world title with the Polish national team in volleyball.

At least Bob hasn't been constantly whining to the press about how MEEN Everton were to him, like Allardyce has.

Then again, he did get a nice payoff. How much did Fat Sam get?

He's my coach of the year every year.

For one brief, shining moment, he had us playing like an XI based in Camelot...

"Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment, that was known as Camelot."

I can safely say we wont see his record of 72 points and 21 wins in a single season troubled for a quite a while yet. Unfortunately.
