He was hopeless manager. A good player who couldn't translate that into know how for a team to prosper with.To be fair to Henry he at least had the courage to give up his comfy sinecure with Belgium (and another with Sky) to go into the hurly-burly of club management. Unlike some.
Back to the sofa and the loving arms of 'El Gaffer' now, I suspect.
He was hopeless manager. A good player who couldn't translate that into know how for a team to prosper with.
El Gaffer is my hero.
I've amended your post to reflect reality.
Worst manager since Joe Royle, HK 97 gets a free pass
"Worst manager" - three seasons here and gave us our best ever record in a single PL season in terms of points won and number of wins in season 1; had Everton as last English club in Europe in season 2; got us to two cup SFs in season 3.
That reads like a golden age from where we currently are....but be my guest and contnue to be wrong.
Ah, I've missed this! Brightened up my night after a tiring week. The eternal jousting over was / is Bobby any good or not?
Ha Ha Ha.He undid all the hard work from Davy Moyes, he spent a dacade punching us above our weight and solid, he had this team so well organised, it took Roberto 12 months to drain that out of them, besides it was Moysie that got us 4th, not Roberto, meaning that he gave us our best Premier League finish and is always welcomed back to Goodison
"Thierry Henry is suspended by Monaco three months after his appointment as manager. They have won only two league games under the former Arsenal striker and are 19th in Ligue 1."
Belgium's WC and WC campaign all down to him...I heard.
He was hopeless manager. A good player who couldn't translate that into know how for a team to prosper with.
El Gaffer is a trophy winning manager of Belgium's most successful national team. A hero.
Sorry to remind you.
Dogged and clueless yet never suffered two back-to-back bottom half finishes in eleven full season's while here unlike Matinez who managed it in just his second and third.Ha Ha Ha.
We were dogged and clueless for the most part. Most wanted him down the road in the end.
Your re-writing of history is genius though. It's like reading 1984 again with your posts.
No, he just almost relegated us instead.Dogged and clueless yet never suffered two back-to-back bottom half finishes in eleven full season's while here unlike Matinez who managed it in just his second and third.
Nor did most people "want him down the road" for the most part either. You'd know this if you'd ever visited Goodison regularly back then (Or ever for that matter). He was pretty well liked by our match going fanbase for the most part until maybe the last season or two and even then he still enjoyed more popularity with the fans then anyone who's been manager since.
No, Swansea were in fine fettle - almost extinct as a club.I'm sure 'El Gaffer' advised Henry not to take the job in the first place; after all, Roberto has never yet taken over a team that's struggling, which must be unique amongst managers, apart from possibly his role model, Pep.
