Martinez new Belgium head coach

I said sometimes. My point was I like offensive football; slight exaggeration; hyperbole.
I wouldn't get too carried away mate, you drew with a god awful Holland team and got played off the park (and booed off) by a Spain team that should've lost to a god awful England team. You're currently getting excited by a few victories over the English equivalent of league one teams or lower.

I could qualify Belgium from that group and so can Martinez, when the tough games come alongside proper managers he'll get you walloped.

He was never first choice just what the budget allowed €950k is some drop from £3m per season here.

Well that's your opinion and your entitled to it but personally I'd rather win every game 1-0 and play the most boring football imaginable if it meant us winning. I'd rather watch a 'boring' 1-0 win then an "phenomenal" 4-3 defeat. Points are what matter not your style of play. People remember results long after they've forgotten how we played on the day.

Said it before and I'll say it again, you should only prioritise style of play if you're the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern, because you already dominate and win everything anyway. Plus the likes of Barca have a genuine history and tradition of playing a certain style AND being successful with it. Everyone else should be concerned first and foremost with winning at all costs, even the likes of Arsenal who would have won the league about 5 times more than they have if Wenger wasn't a stubborn tit and knew more than one way to win a game.

Tbh not too fussed about the friendly results. Also the Spain booing was Wales fallout; same reason why there isn't a huge turnout any more for the Red Devil games. People expect to be disappointed; the same for me (also I always expect the worst; so I am never disappointed) I watch it now they play better then they've ever played so I enjoy it while it lasts. Holland was because they behaved like arrogant show ponies; happens a lot with them - difficult lot. I am hoping that one day our Pamela Anderson Complex will kick in.

Me. Bring it on, if it delivers a trophy or the league I wouldn't give a monkeys.
Your philosophy on football is alien to me.

The point I was trying to make is that the style of play is important to me. Who want to see 0-1 wins or such all the time. Winning is ofc the ultimate objective, I thought it was obvious. Should not have opted for the hyperbole. Sorry for that. Also when you play very negative and still lose it's worse than when you at least try. The balance has to be there.

Also I am not without criticism for the many times he lets leads slip by doing strange things; very frustrating.

Winning in style you know.

Yeah that's fair enough mate, nothing wrong with wanting to win in style playing decent attacking entertaining football, i doubt you'd find anyone who doesn't want to see that.

I accept your original post of it sometimes being more fun to see your team lose or draw than it is to see them win as one of hyperbole to make a point and not how you honestly feel, winning is first, style is second.

It's not like you've spent 2 years telling the forum that you think losing but having Danny Murphy call us "the entertainers" is something that a fan of the 9 times champions of England should boast about or anything like that.

It's pretty simple really for any supporter of any sporting team who has an emotional attachement to that team :

1 : win
2 : win in style
3 : win ugly
4 : draw in style
5 : draw ugly
6 : lose

There is no qualification when you lose. Unless you place Danny Murphy's words after losing as having more importance than 9 league titles, 5 FA cups and 1 CWC.

Wanting to win and having it as your number one priority is alien to you?! No wonder you were content to see El Fraudo destroy the club!

Imagine your standards for the club being so low that you'd be happy with us being glorious failures forever. Incredibly depressing that we have fans that think like that. Brainwashed by blue Bill and the losing culture he's bred.

Unreal isn't it? It's no wonder we have this losers mentality ingrained into the club with people thinking like that.

I believe in winning and good football. I'll take winning without the latter, but it's not fulfilling the entertainment aspect of football. And football should ALWAYS seek to entertain.

Nah. Football is only about winning. Or getting the desired result. If you do that, that is pretty entertaining.

Bayern Munich 0 0 Everton as exhibit #1.

So you wouldn't take a league trophy if football was played ugly and dull for 38 games?? You'd refuse to accept the title because it was not done to your entertainment standards.

Everton should be about winning
All the other teams can provide entertainment for me on the Sunday afternoon
