Im no Holgate fan whatsoever but Goodison has been a toxic place for years now. At our best the fans are amazing but sadly we've destroyed the confidence of a number of managers/players.

Silva/Benitez were worn down as managers and a number of players of ours have been booed which is not on - Schneiderlin, King Salamon now Holgate.
Anyone affiliated with the club (board excluded) need to have our full backing. Dont like hearing fans boo one of our own, regardless of how they have performed.

God knows what we do at left back if Myko/Godfrey isn’t fit next week as I don’t think Holgate can do it again.

5-3-2 with McNeil wing back and Iwobi forward with Dom?
Probably the obvious call. Would require Gray to get start though and don’t see Dyche making such a call.

Agree with this btw - said it when he was subbed off that the boos in the ground were too much.

I get it, the boos do seem harsh but it wasn't one thing he messed up, it was constant, and the brain freeze for the gilt edged chance had nothing to do with playing fullback
He got himself sent off for being stupid a few games back, has always been a reckless player and the situation is too significant atm to allow for such sub par performances. If the boos help him not get picked next two games then I'll be happy about it. If he was my mate I'd say 'stop being so careless and they won't boo'
There was no need for it, he could of played his best ever game today and City would find a way to win.
Probably true
but there is no need to gift it to them either
I just hope he doesn't play for us again, nobody will boo him then and it will be a win/win

I agree, poor lad is only human But, these managers play him. Today it’s on Sean Dyche who put someone who is out of their depth on that pitch in front of fans who have paid their hard earned money to watch rubbish.
Maybe just maybe this might be the catalyst for Mason to go looking for football at a level he’s more comfortable at and I’d wish him well.
That said, paying fans are entitled to voice their opinion.
I wouldn’t normally condone it however many Evertonians including myself have had to put up with this serial underperformer now for many years,he is not alone there either,I know he was out of position today but what is his position?he has undoubtedly proved himself to be diabolical wherever he has been utilised, even centre midfield, remember the sending off minutes after coming on as a sub v spurs was it?

This

It's long past the point of having too much sympathy now utterly ridiculous watching him and Maupey on that pitch when they are barely championship standard.
Let's remember he is also on 70k a week which just baffles belief and just shows how poorly we have been run into the ground.
