....just wonder if at this stage he might be a little lightweight to play in a CB pairing, especially in this league. Kevin Ratcliffe was solidly built and used his pace to great affect and this boy has a chance of being similar.

At this stage probably mate, however i wouldn't be surprised if we switched to a 3 from time to time we would see him involved. Listening to Koemans remarks i think we might see more of him this season then expected.

He looks a great prospect and seemed unfazed at a place like Old Trafford. I hope he turns out like Ratcliffe ...I remember Kevin had to go through a hard time at full back before he blossomed into the backbone of that fabulous side.

I think this is why he will be perfect for a back 3. I think a number of our younger defenders coming through will suit this. Browning, Galloway, Holgate and to a lesser degree Kenny and Connolly are all wide defenders in a back 3. I wonder if we will switch to that more?

He played very well last night.

Coleman Gueye Barkley ?? Baines

Deulofeu Lukaku

I think that's why Geri has been used upfront in pre season and we'll see him alternate with Mirallas up top with Rom. Holgate has a big future but I would prefer another top CB ala koulibaly coming in as first choice right now though.

I agree I think It looks nothing special on paper but add a good GK, a top CB and CM it would look stronger.

I love Baines but for me he is finished at a top 6 club level. I would happily give him to Sunderland for £10-12 million and get someone like Rodriguez in from Wolfsburg if he wouldnt accept a squad role in the side.
