It was a shame, but he did have a pretty poor performance. Got drawn into the ball to much and left himself exposed. Davies actually did the same a few times in the first half. I think with some young players, they can get a bit overconfident after a few good games and think they can be heroes on every play. He'll learn from it and be back to good form I'm sure. None of the back three covered themselves in glory, Williams passing was really poor last night.

I was very pleased with his overall effort and composure after he came on today. Helped us change shape and regain control, pretty much the opposite of us vs palace.
Awesome for his confidence, Koeman showing a lot of faith in him and he will certainly become a top defender.

LOL, he has a spacial awareness problem for sure. Good to see the pictures of your man back in pre training not long now.
...yes, he looks ideal for a back 3 and I also have doubts about him as a conventional CB. He might have the quality and class to manage that position, after all Ratcliffe wasn't tallest but he was built like a middleweight boxer.
There seems to be growing overtures for Matthew Pennington to be involved and many suggest he's a 'Jagielka type'. If the strategy is a flat back four, Pennington might be competition for a place. Time will tell.
