Am I on drugs or did Fulham also make a bunch of changes from the weekend, Think it was around 5

Did they want to lose as well

So you are happy to lose one and win the other?

I want to win every game we play, but we need to play our fringe players to see if they are up to being able to replace any of our first team with injuried/suspensions. The league is more important than the league cup, so tonight is a better time to do it than our 6th league game of the season.

No am not calling for Roberto's head, just pissed off with throwing away a chance to progress in this competition.
Fullham were there for the taking, and we never seized the opportunity.

The chance where he should've laid it off for the completely free man on the edge of the box for the easy chance.

Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic skill to carve open the chance and if it had gone in it would've been bloody brilliant (partly as it was still a difficult finish)!
Get in the box - have a shot. Basic stuff.

Making references to bobby and davey about substitutions after tonight. Let me ask you this, did you **** him off on Saturday for making changes at half time? Did moyes ever do that? You have to remember we played on Saturday. Plus we either stayed in London and didn't have our own facilities to train or we had to make two trips to London in the space of 4 days, hence changes needed. It's disappointing that we lost after the bright start but we can't expect to win every game regardless of the opposition. We can play the same eleven every week and tire them out by January and when we have to bring other players in they'll be useless because they've been warming the bench for months. Swings and roundabouts and all that. What concerns me now is how does a Martinez led Everton bounce back from defeat.

we'll never win this trophy, it's cursed. Feel sorry for the folks that travelled down on a Tuesday night. Hopefully they'll get a show on Monday.

BLADDERED YOU.

that shouldn't be a reason why u need to rotate your squad.
its not hard stepping on a coach mate and sitting on it. If anything, thats a ****ing rest.

Meanwhile in reality: Those two are regularly competing in the Champions League and we haven't won any silverware in 19 and haven't been in Europe full stop for 4 seasons.

Glad somebody picked you up on the absurd comparison to the ZDS too.

How is it absurd, that was a secondary domestic competition too. It's in the exact same bracket as the League Cup - the only difference is the format and that it is now defunct.

It doesn't matter how long we go without silverware, the focus on the League Cup is what it is for a big club like ours.

The manager has (rightly) opted to rotate his squad tonight, which is what every other club at our level and beyond does. I notice you chose to ignore that fact.

Have a look at Spurs tonight, away to Aston Villa.

Chiriches, Fryers, Kane, Friedel etc.

Actually, check Villa - exactly the same.

Man City gave fringe players a game and used it as a fitness exercise:

Chelsea:

West Ham - Rat, Nolan, Diame, Petric, all benched:

And so on.

So.
Martinez decided to rotate the squad, which we've always called for in the cups.
We lost to actually decent opposition, by the look of it we could/should've gotten away with a win as well.
People are fuming.

What am I missing? I'm not using this as a stick to beat Moyes, but surely the fact that we were usually out of all cup competitions in the first rounds and usually played a near-full strength team as well in the previous years, rather than what happened now, is worse?

Plus it's the COC, who gives a toss?

And so on.

When was the last time Chelsea, City, and Spurs won something.

And yeah, he rotated the squad because the League Cup is third most important competition we're involved in. That does not automatically make it a 'Mickey mouse' cup.

No mate.

Have you ever sat on a coach for 6 hours? How does it feel when you get off? How would it feel after 90 minutes of Premier League football?

Get in the box - have a shot. Basic stuff.

Not if you are at a difficult angle and side on to the goal, and also have the opportunity to easily lay it on to a player that is completely free on the edge of the box, in a central position and fully facing the goal.

I'm getting bogged down in a minor detail here.

Deulofeu showed enough to me to guarantee his place on the bench against Newcastle and be a possible game changer in the second half. He just needs to further up his fitness and keep his head up at times to complement his fantastic dribbling and directness.

If Fulham draw City away tomorrow is anyone really going to be arsed about this

Move onto the next.

We can't change this result. It's happened.

Support the team on Monday.
