Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

James is good enough but is he available enough is a massive question.
Allan is probably good enough.
Doucoure definitely isn't.

James isn't really a center mid though in this league so if the group of four is Allan, Doucoure and the United fellas I'm going Fred, Allan, McTominay and Doucoure with the closest to being switched being Allan and McTominay.

Our midfield is not very good and we also need more depth because we won't be getting 38 games out of Allan or James. I'd say at best two players and that assumes Davies continues to ascend.
agreed depth is not there and as I said in an ideal world I would replace Doucoure but with 2 hard working pacy technical players around him and James ahead of him he is more than capable of holding his own in a top 2- 4 midfield

The same as Allan once he settles ,not flashy ,not world class just steady and dependable ,same as Doucoure
In an ideal world I would upgrade Doucore to a more technical ball carrying midfielder bur him Allan James and one other top class ACM are quite capable of getting us top 4
Its when we get injuries the drop off to Davies Gomes ,Iwobi ,Delph ,Bernard and to a lesser degree Siggy is too much
I am hoping Gbamin comes back as the player we thought we were signing
It will take two summers to sort out the first 11 and a couple more to sort the bench
In an ideal world we'd upgrade Doucoure to pretty much anything else. He just does one specific thing and it isn't enough for someone in his position.

Allan is 30. We don't have time for him to settle.

Two summers to sort it out is exactly my point. We're multiple years away.

Harsh on Moyes but I won't argue it.
Ive said it before, but we have pretty much been a nothing club since 1988.

Sure we have had some "good" seasons, won an fa cup, finished 4th, got to Wembley a few times, but its nothing that puts us on the map or even makes us anything more than a West Ham or a Newcastle.

I love the way people say "even clubs like Leicester", that's Premier League Champions Leicester, for the record.

So yeah, sure lets accept that, admit that we will probably continue to do nothing, ever again, I'm sure Sheffield Wednesday fans are waiting for their resurgence as well. So I have 2 choices, accept the truth or dream of a better time.

I will never accept a reality that makes me unhappy.

I still think we can do it again, but I think it requires playing the long game. Everyone says you can't do it in England but the clubs that have given it even half a go have usually punched above their level during that period. Leicester won the title and then completely rebuilt it aside from Vardy and Schmeichel. We finish 8th and instead of seeing it as a good result along the way we try to push on immediately like we're going to go from 11th to 8th to 3rd.

Yes, Leicester made the leap but they saw it for what it was, an aberration, and resumed the slow climb. Even if we somehow still found our way to 4th this season it would be exactly that, an aberration. But it doesn't always have to be like that.

This isnt a dig mate.

But you cant do what teams do in the MLS and NFL, we have relegation, if you stand still in this league you may as well pack it all in.

I'm not saying intentionally be terrible. I'm saying sign players who are good now and might be better later. I'm talking about Saints signing Van Dijk, Mane, Wanyama, Hojbjerg, Clyne and whoever else before they were good or Spurs bringing through Kane while also signing guys like Eriksen, Alderweireld (after he was on loan and supposed to sign for Southampton), Vertonghen, Walker etc. All these players were able to contribute immediately and become top class later. We can do this.

I'd also suggest not selling all of them as fast as possible like Saints did, but I think we've got greater ambition to the point that some of those guys would stay on.

The problem is this takes a degree of faith in the system and patience. Do we have either? Probably not.

The whole club has been a mess since The Mosh walked in the door, not even a dig at the fella, but he wanted to run from day 1 and he trusted some very bad people with a heap of money. I think Brands had a plan, then Carlo came and the plan changes.

We almost have a great first 11, I know, Allan and Doucs are rubbish, Godfrey is over rated, Keane has mentality issues, DCL cant finish, Rico sulks and dives, Digne cant defend, blah, blah, blah.

None of that is true.

We have some good players, if we can sign more, we can improve.

Changing lanes here a bit, it is funny how hard ownership can be in sports. These rich guys are successful at everything so they come in and think they can do whatever and it'll work but it is actually quite hard. Finding the right people is hard and there is almost no chance you'll know what to do yourself.

And with that in mind what I'm suggesting might be shambolic, but I've yet to really see another way for a team without the funds of a City cerca 2008 to make their way to the areas I assume we want to be without making some kind of commitment to medium to long term development. So while I don't know that is the best I've got.

Except he will keep Sigurdsson and play him at the tip of the diamond which ruins it

Who is the better CF and finisher
Richarlison or DCL ??

Then you would need two top quality pacy FBs because otherwise you have no width and if you are playing 2 up top and one is DCL you need crosses into the box for him and filthy little James special passes for Richarlison to score from
FBs like Reece James or Kyle Walker or Chilwell

Regardless, id be happy with this type of mixed approach to signings.

Is there meant to be 12 positions? Also you have omitted Allan.
