The release clause only matters if we can pay it, which we can't - spins the power back to Burnley and doubt they are in a charitable mood after their complaint followed by us taking Tarkowski off them for nowt.

If as looks certain we have a limited amount we can pay up front and are trying to stretch it over 3-4 signings (backending the bulk of those fees) then walk away from this deal tbh.

It’s highly unlikely we’d do that, suspect it’s more paying an upfront fee on the release clause that’s holding things up
