My bet is that this was one of the conditions of the funding model (disclaimer - this is supposition, I have no insider info whatsoever!)What do the club get from compromising/working around the challenge of athletics to accommodate Liverpool's 2022 bid?
Shouldn't it be transparent?
This is the council, tax payers money.
We lost the Kirkby war.
It's this simple:
How?
If he says it's possible, explain how. Then the concerns disappear.
Until then, that tweet is PR nonsense as it isn't backed up by anything of substance.
So that's what we need - an answer to how this tweet makes any sense whatsoever.
The letter clearly states we arent compromising anything.
When do we know which city has won the bid? Surely if it's not Liverpool this becomes irrelevant, but at the same time we have an architect in 'lingo' waiting to know if a track is even necessary. @Moomin

It would still have to be put into the plans. Including the costings. Why should he be if it's a purpose-built football stadium that won't be 'compromised'?

A track isn't acceptable and this needs to be fought like Kirkby was. We are a FOOTBALL team. All this other stuff is irrelevant.
But is it an acceptable compromise? No one will know till we see the plans, till then, theres no point worrying.Bit odd of the Mayor to feel compelled to write this letter, an conclude it in bold claiming there's no compromise here.
I said this morning, before the letter - this would be a compromise.
It absolutely is.
