Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. It's flipping freezing here. ( although probably tropical for @blue1948 and @Ducans elbow !) We've had a couple of snow flurries this morning and I've got my thermal vest on to try to avoid putting the heating on.
I gave myself a good talking to about Everton last night - especially after reading the article in the Guardian. Here's the link if anybody wants ithttps://www.theguardian.com/footbal...t-over-alisher-usmanovs-links-with-everton-fc

Anyway my talking to resulted in this
1) we are getting relegated
2) It is only a game
3) My destiny and Everton"s destiny are not linked in any way shape or form. Everton do not impact on my daily life.
4) I shall continue to be a fan - Boro and Sunderland are nice easy away fixtures.
Have a good day folks. Im away to make a cuppa!

If you read it through there is no evidence to prove Usmanov is the owner ,of course he as a sponsor and friend could be consulted ,we ask advice on here and in general have never met so it is just clickbait for me ,beside being old news .
Not for one minute would I want a Russian owner friend of Putin ,no more than be owned by a state that publicly kills and flogs their citizen and that can be proven .

i think it was a fairly open secret that Usmanov was putting lots of money into Everton. I mean, who pays £millions to have the naming rights of a training ground. I've no doubt that one of Usmanov's companies would have also had the naming rights to the new ground and FFP could have been circumnavigated by increasing spondsorship from his companies. As it is the invasion of Ukraine happened - which nobody predicted and the Russians, rightly, got sanctioned.

However I am shocked that he was taking part in interviewing managers - why ask a sponsor to do that? I'm also concerned that at least five people have been left with the impression he owned us. You have to wonder what on earth is going on? And, more pertinently - are we skint due to Usmanov no longer being on the scene. I suggest we are which is why Moshiri is looking for new investment and why we haven't signed anybody yet. We can't afford to.

The whole thing is a mess.

Good morning all ( afternoon for @Barnfred 55 ) on this very rainy day here in Hyvinkää .The roads should be fine if you like slipping around !Great to see @Barnfred 55 posting so upbeat on what is a hard day in ways ,although the love he shares with Cal makes it difficult to imagine him being down .A very well turned out steak if I may say and the pate and port made me jealous having just reembarked on my diet .On the subject of desert wines has anyone tried the Canadian frozen grape wine I think it is ice wine .I hope all had a good night and have a great day today .
While living in Germany, I tried German Eiswein (ice wine) and it was very good. I'm sure the Canadian version would be good as well.

Latest on my daughter's boyfriend is he was out of hospital and the surgery went great but he now has anaemia and has gone back in to Warrington ,when she asked him how did he sleep he told her he cannot sleep as he is in the corridor ! What has happened to the NHS a man just had open heart surgery and he has to sleep in the bloody corridor .
Pleased the surgery went well. Hope he continues to improve. The NHS is on its knees. Massively underfunded for years. It is such a shame. .

So pleased to hear that surgery went well, hope the anaemia improves soon. As Anj. said NHS has been underfunded for years, many services outsourced to private companies. National disgrace.

Now that is a chilly one but thankfully not much ice on the roads or pavements!

Still no signings does make you think that we are indeed pot less. Surely Moshiri stands to lose far more if we go down than he does by buying 2 players now and maybe taking a personal hit on that? Or maybe he just doesn’t care anymore as he is done here and it’s for someone else to clear up the mess.

Either way, us headlock loving, roadblocking extraordinaires will still be here regardless. :drunk:

Good afternoon all. Bit of a ' mare this morning taking Mr F to work. He chatted happily about his work day to come. I knew I needed diesel, the light came on yesterday, so pulled into the garage near his work. Mr F got out, went into the shop to buy a sandwich and I proceeded to get diesel. The bloody cap lock was frozen solid! Couldn't budge it. Saw Mr F leaving shop and shouted over for help. He came back, poked around with the key a bit, gave up and went on his way. Leaving me, with no coat, sandals on because what's the point I'm only dropping him off, to fend for myself. Managed to get home and eventually at about 11am the lock defrosted. I then had to go to the motorway services very close to our house to buy enough diesel at an inflated price to get me to a reasonably priced garage. If opu ever pass J61 on the A1, wave to me??!

I have learned lots of things from this experience most notably 1) don't wait until the last minute to get fuel 2) always dress appropriately wherever you are going.
Other than that early morning drama today has been very quiet.
