Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good evening all. How is everybody doing? I think I've told ypu me and Mr F are going to Rome on Monday for 4 days. Today I bought tickets for the Lazio v AC Milan match on Tuesday. That should be fun. Bizarrely started worrying that we might be in with the away fans and then the penny dropped. It doesn't matter. If we're in with the Milan fans we can be Milan fans. The ground is 45 minutes walk from our hotel so that's good too.
It's still freezing here. Had a bit of snow yesterday but nothing since.

Good afternoon all. Bit of a ' mare this morning taking Mr F to work. He chatted happily about his work day to come. I knew I needed diesel, the light came on yesterday, so pulled into the garage near his work. Mr F got out, went into the shop to buy a sandwich and I proceeded to get diesel. The bloody cap lock was frozen solid! Couldn't budge it. Saw Mr F leaving shop and shouted over for help. He came back, poked around with the key a bit, gave up and went on his way. Leaving me, with no coat, sandals on because what's the point I'm only dropping him off, to fend for myself. Managed to get home and eventually at about 11am the lock defrosted. I then had to go to the motorway services very close to our house to buy enough diesel at an inflated price to get me to a reasonably priced garage. If opu ever pass J61 on the A1, wave to me??!

I have learned lots of things from this experience most notably 1) don't wait until the last minute to get fuel 2) always dress appropriately wherever you are going.
Other than that early morning drama today has been very quiet.

3) get a new Mr F……

Anyway, the brain scan results came back and my wife is now formally diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. At least we now know and can plan accordingly. She is still healthy and happy and that’s all that counts…..
:( I'm very sorry to hear that. Advances are happening in that field of medicine right now, so hopefully they'll be better options soon. One of my uncles had it. I'll keep her in my prayers!

Sorry to hear that Pete. However at least you know now and can put strategies in place to help your wife.

Good morning all on this mild day here in Finland I hope all are well and had a good night . My project for the weekend is to make a butter chicken ,we have heard it mentioned so many times .It is not available here ready made to try so I will make it if I can find a couple of different spices . Looking on you tube it seems it is also mahkanwala which I used to get in a jar from Makro . The ingredient I might not get is chaat masala and the recipe asks from a few bits I have to search hard for .
Have a great day all.COYB

With a diesel car it is important not to let it run low ,one is that it can drudge up sludge and the main is that you get condensation in the tank which is not the best mixed with the diesel.

Very sorry to hear as it has been a genetic thing in my family ,my mum's ,mum ,her brother and her sister all had it .The meds are much better now and they say a cure is on the way .
The village I used to live in had two doctors one of whom was a researcher into Alzheimer's ,she was sure they are on the brink of a breakthrough. Does your wife speak any foreign languages ? My wife's mother was a language teacher and she did not remember when or who visited ,I went in to see her as I understood after my gran. Although I didn't know her I just made small talk as she was watching TV anyway ,later when my wife went in her mother told her almost word for word what I had been telling her .It seems that where you store a new language is not normally affected and also when times get harder it helps to ask her to sing her answers ,for the same reason .
I wish you luck with her meds but I wish your wife even more luck .Stay strong .
A bit of a je suis Fred there ,haha.
