Morning everyone ,

This thread seems to have morphed from acoustic guitars to the Jamie Oliver thread in days.....I can't keep up.

Anyway Messy, I hope you slept well mate and feel.up to posting. It would be lovely to see a message from you.

Broke the Jazzy rule last night of not drinking in the week , but slept well.

However I awoke with a really sore arm , same as the wife , can only be a delayed reaction from our Pfizer booster 2 days ago.

Lovely and crisp day here so perhaps some more leaf collection and the batten down the hatches before the forecasted storm on Friday.

I had a similar reaction to my Pfizer booster. It was like somebody had punched your arm and it had gone dead. Only lasted a day though.

A little story to make you smile. Its just popped up on my Facebook memories. My daughter is a very switched on young woman, she works as a placement officer for a fostering agency and is far from thick. Sometimes however she doesn't get it. At all. On this day a few years ago she was talking to her colleagues about the Thai football team and their coach who had been rescued from the cave. "All I asked Mum was how did they get the bus out. They all started laughing. Well how was I supposed to know...."
 
Morning Messy. Lovely sunny day down here in Berkshire, hope it is with you. We were supposed to be getting the man from the Estate Agents today, to measure up all the rooms. Just had a phone call to say he's got Covid!
They are trying to get a replacement for tomorrow. A neighbour called yesterday to say they know someone who is waiting for a house in our drive to come on the market. Have passed details to the Estate Agent. They don't come on the market very often. I've been here just under 40 years and there are several who have been here longer!

Just had a catch up on the thread and once again all this talk of food has made me hungry. This thread plays havoc with my fast metabolism. :)

Hope you're able to post a message today Messy, but if you don't feel up to it, at least we know you're logging in and reading the posts on your thread.

Anyone got their Christmas decorations up yet? Our tree is going up this week-end. Normally I won't entertain the idea of anything Christmassy going up before December, but my daughter, who's 16 next week, is very excited about Christmas this year and always likes to dress the tree. Seems unusual for a 16 year old to be so excited about Christmas, but it's lovely to see. Oh, and she's decided we're having two trees.

Your story reminded me of a very intelligent blonde female friend having what she calls one of her blonde moments. She was born in Warrington, then moved to Bath when she was very young, but has always been keen to hang onto her northern roots. She pronounces words like laugh with the hard A that us northerners use, so she says laff rather than larf. She lived in Ba-th, not Bar-th.

One night in the pub, we were having a good natured discussion with some southern friends about the correct way to pronounce certain words and my mate, who'd had a few by this point, confidently exclaimed, "There's no r in bathroom." "Er, I think you'll find there is, Liz."

I think that's lovely. It's her thing that she likes to do. Long may it continue. And to be fair it's been pretty grim for teenagers in the recent past. A bit of excitement and something to look forward to is always good at any age.

@Bluetintedspecs my daughter has been wanting to start decorating the house for Christmas since last January lol She was born on December 23rd so for her Christmas is a very special time and she can’t wait to get the house decorated but our rule is that we won’t do so until the weekend of Thanksgiving so on Saturday we will be going to purchase our Christmas tree and the decorations will begin ?❄️

Have fun with your daughter decorating and putting the tree up. These are the occasions and moments together to cherish.
