Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Best wishes today to messy and the mascoteers .The nearer it gets the more hope I have for Sunday ,the run might break just in time for the derby .More desperation or inticipation than calculation .
Desperation sadly…. Actually no it’s not … it’s wishful thinking which is much more positive in the M and Ms thread !

Lots of words came over with the vikings hence to kirk in Scotland .
One thing that I noticed was that the word for bridge in Swedish sounds like brew -bro- which is what we called the railway bridge on City road near goodison and no one knew why .
Barn and bairn for child I think in
and bra meaning good in Swedish sounds like the Scots word braw meaning good although lots of words get passed through so many languages you can’t always be sure. The Kirk and church link is definite though as you said. ?

Morning everyone ,

I hope today is a good day for you Messy , a short message would be lovely if you can.

Incredibly windy here and predictably enough Ormskirk Market has been cancelled - that is the charity have decided against it but I suspect that the whole market will be cancelled anyway.

The thought of trying to erect the marquee and then chasing down Church St after it when the wind gusted was giving me nightmares.

Not ventured out yet but I can see that I've got at least a couple of fencing panels down so a bit of work when the wind dies down.

So I suppose it will be a day to stay indoors , keep warm and watch the footie.

Stay safe everyone.

Good morning g @Barnfred 55 and everybody else. Hope those of you inUK and Ireland survived the storm relatively unscathed. We've got a roof tile off and a leak window. Nothing too drastic. No snow yet. Cancelled my trip to Liverpool. My Dad rang and said he was worried about me driving and thought it was best to leave it this weekend. So a lazy weekend beckons.

Morning Messy, Fred and the rest of the gang.

Would be great to hear from you Messy. What do you think about our chances against Brentford tomorrow? They've impressed me this season and they were a marginal offside call away from beating the RS.

Weather dull and gloomy today, 5C the high. A bit windy, too, but that's more to do with the minestrone soup I had yesterday. I've already had the death stare from my missus.

The English translation of Swedish club Djurgardens name is animal farm

Morning all

Morning Messy and everybody else.

Didn't have a great nights sleep Anj, which is unusual for me. I have skylight windows in my bedroom and the rain was either monsoon like or was actually hailstones because the racket was unbelievable. Woke me up about 4 am and it was well after 5 before I got back to sleep.

Sun is shining now but there's still more showers forecast for the day, plus the winds of course which i think is going to be the main problem. At least the rest of the leaves have fallen off the tree so I can do a final tidy up in the back once things have dried out a little.

I think you are right to cancel your trip to Liverpool Anj. It isn't a day to be out on the roads, the winds can cause so much damage and dangerous accidents. Luckily my mates aren't driving down until tomorrow when the forecast is a lot calmer.

5 minutes. That didn't take long. ;)
Well I do have have a fast metabolism mate.

This thread is certainly varied. We've gone from talking about footy, Messy's social life, food (including offal), saunas, music, birds and other wildlife, guitar making, different cultures and traditions, words crossing over to different languages, neighbours urinating in their garden, to my bowel movements.

You can always rely on me to lower the tone. ;)

Good morning @messymascot and the many mascoteers that visit this thread.

I’m glad to hear the weather and winds haven’t affected you all too terribly. Wonder if it was the same for you, Karl?

It has been very cold the past couple of days at our region, the temperature is -3 at the moment but it is supposed to be sunny and warm up later in the day. We are back home and going to have a busy day cleaning and getting our place decorated for Christmas. My daughter has been anxiously waiting for this day so later this afternoon we will be taking her to the farm to get the Christmas tree. Can’t believe we are almost nearing the end of another year, time really flies so quickly.

Sending lots of strength your way @messymascot We are thinking about you! Xx
