Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Beautiful day here in east midlands. I’m feeling much better now and will venture outside with my wife later.

It’s been a strange period as the memory doctor had put her on some tablets at 5mg,10mg, 15mg and 20mg over a period of a month to see how she got on. Fortunately he had described to me that they may affect her badly for 4 or 5 days but that it would pass, but if not then to stop. Sure enough during the 5mg week she was almost comatose at times but she came out of it and has now had a week of 10mg with her being as she was pre-tablets. We start the 15mg tomorrow for a week prior to the 20mg then another meeting with the doctor to discuss the dosage going forward. It sounds a bit experimental but it’s what people have to go through…..

Just having a couple of pints at The Front, overlooking Falmouth Harbour. Recently won CAMRAs best pub in Cornwall award. Drinking Treen Resolve, a local stout that I get in bottles from village shop. The draught version is even nicer.

Great ale, fantastic views and a music play that's right up my street. No doubt I'll regret it later when I'm peeing myself on the bus home.😀

Hopefully this is going to be something positive for you both x

Hi Jazzy and the gang, sorry not been on here for a while just not been as chatty as normal.
Long story short, my mum died in the early hours of Saturday morning she'd been ill for a little while and I was working up here in Scotland and travelling down most weekends to support my brother who'd been caring for her then visiting her in hospital then a care home.
I'm okay if a little tired, I am fortunate to have good family and friends supporting my brother and I.
I was fortunately down for a scheduled visit to watch the match with my granddaughter at the weekend when my mum took a turn for the worse.
I hope you're all well and I shall pop in on a more frequent basis again now
So sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time ,I am sure you have the best wishes of all on here , stay strong that man .Nice to hear you will be posting again as we all do care .

Your wife is so lucky to have you, your strength and undestanding . Just remember you might need a break at times .

Good morning all. My brother and I had a few glasses of wine last night and put some plans into place as to how we approach the situation. Apparently I am in charge of all things Catholic ' you still believe Ang, I can't be arsed with all that' We need the coroner to do what they have to do before we can get a death certificate.
He told my brother ages ago that he wants exactly the same arrangements as our Mum and all the details are on his computer. So Requiem Mass at St Francis in Garston and afterwards in the Cricket Club.
I hope you don't mind if I tell you a story about him. It is also my earliest memory of Everton. As you know, he was a seafarer. When I was about 4 he got a job in Nigeria. We went to live there. In 1966 Everton reached the FA Cup Final. I distinctly remember my Dad glued to the radio listening to the match. It wasn't going well. My Nan ( his mother in law) had sent him a blue and white hat and scarf she had knitted. So he put them in, in the tropical heat of Lagos, he was listening to the radio wearing a woolly hat and scarf! However it did the trick because we won. Overturned a 2 -0 deficit to win 3-2. 😃. And I'm fairly sure that was when Everton bit me!
Quick, someone get knitting!!!

Sorry to hear that mate. Glad you have your support network around you, and there’s always a second one in here for when you fancy a random chat about whatever bizarre subject of the day is doing the rounds in here.

Take care.
