Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Just having a couple of pints at The Front, overlooking Falmouth Harbour. Recently won CAMRAs best pub in Cornwall award. Drinking Treen Resolve, a local stout that I get in bottles from village shop. The draught version is even nicer.

Great ale, fantastic views and a music play that's right up my street. No doubt I'll regret it later when I'm peeing myself on the bus home.😀
You'll never regret living in Cornwall tho 😌

Beautiful day here in east midlands. I’m feeling much better now and will venture outside with my wife later.

It’s been a strange period as the memory doctor had put her on some tablets at 5mg,10mg, 15mg and 20mg over a period of a month to see how she got on. Fortunately he had described to me that they may affect her badly for 4 or 5 days but that it would pass, but if not then to stop. Sure enough during the 5mg week she was almost comatose at times but she came out of it and has now had a week of 10mg with her being as she was pre-tablets. We start the 15mg tomorrow for a week prior to the 20mg then another meeting with the doctor to discuss the dosage going forward. It sounds a bit experimental but it’s what people have to go through…..
Sounds like progress Pete and long may that continue.

Hi Jazzy and the gang, sorry not been on here for a while just not been as chatty as normal.
Long story short, my mum died in the early hours of Saturday morning she'd been ill for a little while and I was working up here in Scotland and travelling down most weekends to support my brother who'd been caring for her then visiting her in hospital then a care home.
I'm okay if a little tired, I am fortunate to have good family and friends supporting my brother and I.
I was fortunately down for a scheduled visit to watch the match with my granddaughter at the weekend when my mum took a turn for the worse.
I hope you're all well and I shall pop in on a more frequent basis again now
Im so sorry for your loss and my deepest sympathy to you and your family . It can’t have been an easy time for you but fortunately it seems you have a support network around you which is invaluable.

@anjelikaferrett hope you’re doing ok and they happy memories are providing some relief and a few smiles .

@peteblue I’m absolutely certain it’s reciprocal but your wife is fortunate to have the love and support of someone like yourself . I can only hope you get a little time to recharge .

To both of you and LT I wish I could do more than simply tell you all that you’re in my thoughts but you are

Take care .

Sorry to hear of your sad loss mate, these things always hit you hard no matter what age you are. Take care.

Feel quite chuffed today. Mowed the back and front meadow/orchard, the first time since the apple trees were given a #2 "prune", letting light into the ground. Tons of wild Forget me Nots, and the beginnings of a Bluebell display all preserved. And in the front, several self seeding clumps of Pansies. It all looks so pretty, and also just natural.

Funnily enough my worst nightmare just happened. Bagful of Iceland frozen food and my bus doesn't turn up. Next one in hour.

Trudged over to Iceland, told the lady on the till my predicament, and asked if there's any chance she can put my shopping back in a freezer, fully expecting a resounding no. Of course my lover, how long for. Can you just imagine that in Liverpool?😀

Now back in Wetherspoons totally chilled and posting on here. Also a bit pished.

Thank you to absolutely everyone who has taken the time to pm or put messages on this thread in support of me it just confirms what I knew already that there are so many good people who uphold the principles which underpins this thread, thank you one and all it's given me a lift today.xx
Sorry for your loss LT, sending my condolences
May your Mum RIP
