You would know others if you heard them. Night Shift is a Commodores song and Because the Night was a big hit for Patti Smith. Bruce wrote it and gave it to her. He always says she did it much better than he ever could. The only songs I know are in the encore!
OMG! The Lobster Pot. Absolute must go to place after one too many light ales in town- afternoon or eveningYeah, the Lobster Pot is a very different style of chippy for me for example. Our chippies wouldn’t normally do kebabs either.
Plus 9/10 times the fish will be cod and you don’t get a choice the way you do in English chippies.
Admit it Brett. You were wearing your speedos weren't youA lady stopped me in the gym this morning to tell me I always smell nice, and said that apparently a few people have remarked similarly. When you look like I do, smelling nice is very important, so I was cock-a-hoop as you can imagine.
Sister and bro in law came over on the boat this evening, so they can do a spot of babysitting for us while we go galavanting off to London tomorrow for a gig. Decent day, all in all!
Hope everyone here is well.
@jazzy any updates on that pizza?
There's a fine line where being unlucky merges with being an idiot T. I think you crossed it thereI've done a bit of a faux pas, I bought the wrong sort of coffee, I bought ground filtered for some reason and I don't have a cafetier to make it. I thought I had bought one and have been waiting for it to arrive for 10 days, anyway, turns out I had only bought the bloody filters for one. I didn't read it properly ffs, I am an idiot.
The guy who owned the Lobster Pot used to be my client. Good guy. Greek Cypriot. What a night. From the moment he came on to the moment he left-

Had a big standard G&T last night Blue so didn't bother with the pics. Had the neighbours round the night before and she likes hers drowned In tonic, so had a cheap slimline tonic opened that needed using. May have a proper one tonight.good morning all on this already toasty day here in Finland another 30° forecast . I hope all slept well and have a great day today . Missed the Friday G&T from @Barnfred 55 I hope his neighbour didn't have too much of a nibble .
We celebrate Midsummer's day as one of the biggest in Finland , the wife has invited a good friend -who doesn't eat meat other than chicken is gluten free and has a few allergies . The only thing I could come up with was banana butties !I forgot the bread so bananas it is COYBlol lol
Stop it. It's not good for me at my age!Speedos and Hi Karate, never fails!
Was this the lady Brett?Speedos and Hi Karate, never fails!
What a night. We got home at 3:45 this morning. I've seen 32 junctions of the M6 in one night! I can confirm that the first sign of the dawn appears at 2.09 and the sunrise starts at 3.17. It's been a great weekend so far. Had a lovely meal out at a place called Le Mistral in Sherwood with son and his girlfriend. Son's girlfriend then sent us on our way to Birmingham with a late full English breakfast that would have fed an army! She's introduced us to Sainsburys garlicky sausages ( apparently that is their name) I now need them in my life.
And then came Bruce. 2 hours 55 minutes of awesomeness. No breaks, very little talking but so much interaction with the crowd. (side note: I know it isn't a high bar but Villa Park's ladies loos are the best I've ever used at a football ground.) Back to Bruce. It was surprisingly emotional. I actually cried when he came on stage and opened with No Surrender (if I don't opt for bag and burn when I snuff it that is one of my funeral choices) It was an emotional event. There seemed to be an air of this is the last time. When he did talk it was reflective looking back. At one point he said something like when you are 15 everything is over the horizon and then suddenly there are so many yesterdays under the bridge.
I've said on here many times for me, songs are all about the lyrics. Possibly because my emotions are still a bit fragile, some of his songs really resonated. More tears. I'll See You In My Dreams and Letter To You especially. The E Street Band were as fabulous as ever. The crowd were unreal( it is like being in a cult) and he sang The River. What more can a girl want! Here's some pics Bruce, Nils Lofgren and for Sopranos fans, Silvio Dante doing the day job!

For those who know the Aigburth area, there's a chippy called Steve's - similarly, it's owned by Greek Cypriots (the Katous). The guy who owned the Lobster Pot used to be my client. Good guy. Greek Cypriot.
For a while Cal worked at the bank on the corner of Bold Street and would sometimes cover the cashiers over lunchtime. She was always moaning to me about the bank notes the Lobster Pot paid in as they were always greasy and stank if curry, fish and kebabs. Like I could do anythjng about it
It was lovely. Food excellent and a really nice vibe to the place. My parents were there last night, not spoken to them yet as I'm seeing them tomorrow but apparently my dad was really excited all week
Love Steve's. I had a Saturday job in Littlewoods Food Hall. Mostly on the cheese counter. I did notice that on my way home on Merseyrail, still in my uniform, nobody would sit next to me. I must have stunk of cheese! For those who know the Aigburth area, there's a chippy called Steve's - similarly, it's owned by Greek Cypriots (the Katous).
Anyway, there's a woman who has worked there for years: older, funny and quite glamorous. Saw her once in a shop around the corner and wow...
... the smell of grease. Made me think what it must be like coming home from places like that or the ol' greasy spoons.
