Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning one and all.

Busy day today as its the Animal.rescue Christmas fair.

Mrs J will be making soup and sandwiches for about 100 after I bought up just about every loaf left in Aldi last night.

My job will be to man the entry gate so hope the weather will be kind.

We usually park cars on the field but if we do that we will need a tractor to get them off , so fortunately the local pub kindly agreed to let us use their car park.

I hope today is a good one for you Messy and that you feel up to posting a message letting us know you are OK.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning all, especially you @messymascot. We are all still rooting for you and thinking of you.

I went to Raby Castle Christmas Market. I can confirm that I still hate markets in spite of the stunning setting? . In this case it was overpriced artisan crafty stuff as opposed to overpriced tat! However I did buy some ale for daughter's boyfriend which included a beetroot beer and a coffee stout. 7.4% alcohol. He's a bit of a fan of real ale so hopefully he'll like them. I also bought a bottle of blood orange and cranberry liqueur which goes nice with Prosecco apparently. There seems to be a pattern emerging here...

It's raining this morning. I think we are going to put the Christmas tree up today. Have a good day everybody.

Good luck with the Christmas fair. Hope you raise lots of money.

Hope the weather stays fine and you make shedloads of money.

No idea. My kids used to get £1, which I thought was extortionate. The first time one of them lost a tooth was at their Grandma's so she set the rate! I'm sure it will have gone up these days.
Not sure being a tooth fairy is such a great vocation after all. Seems a tad expensive to me.

And you can add buying alcohol at markets to the list of things we have in common. My fault apparently. I used to enjoy tasting them then Cal felt obliged to buy something ?

Morning all, hope you had a comfortable night Messy. Googled Mawnan Smith, Fred and it truly is stunning. We are on the edge of the Fens and the scenery could hardly be more different. Stamford is not too far away though and there are some pretty villages around there. Bit cloudy now after a bright start. Mr G. may attempt to put the outdoors lights up if the weather holds. I will supervise from indoors.lol. Have a good day, everyone.

I did try before you buy with the liqueur and also felt obliged to buy a bottle! I'm rubbish in markets. I hate going and haggling when you are on holiday. Went to one in Turkey once and realised, when I translated the money we were arguing about 75p. I paid the full price. My other horrendous holiday experience was on a shopping day when we were in Jamaica which included a trip to a market. I felt so sorry for the people selling stuff. I bought a wooden turtle, a purse made out of a coconut, a sarong in the colours of the Jamaican flag and a bracelet depicting cannabis leaves! None of which I wanted or needed! I spent $75 on utter crap. lol

Mine used to get 50p. I used to get 6d (old money). My eldest granddaughter bit into apple and swallowed hers, parents didn‘t wait for the proof they just paid up.!?

It is looking OK so far. Cloudy with a bit of wind ( but that's enough of me) and crucially .....dry.

Anyway it could have been so much worse ....yeah I dodged the bullet that read " dress up as Santa's Claus!"

Have a great day and anyone going to the Anomals in Need Christmas Fair at Lydiate Village Hall ( free publicity) say hello.
