Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

First of all a Gooooood Morning to Messy Fred and the gang but especially you Jazzy, I think what you're doing iis amazing , would it be possible to post on here how we could donate as I would love to make a contribution to such a worthy cause and I'm sure there would be many others also.
I hope the weather is kind in your area and you have a large generous crowd with deep pockets.
Thanks ever so much guys.

Just got back , absolutely freezing but really successful.

Left Mrs J there (aged mum looking after our dogs and didn't want her to have them all day).

The food stall was rammed and I think all the cake, sandwiches , soup etc should go.

I'm sure GOT won't mind if I give the charity a bit of free publicity.

My wife and her sister set the charity up 30 years ago but when Mrs J had to have her 1st open heart op she gave up being a trustee.

She is fine now and voluntarily runs their charity shop in Formby and I help out occasionally.

The charity is Carla Lane Animals in Need. They have a Facebook page and their website is www.Ainimalsinneed.co.uk .

There is a donation button if anyone is so inclined. If anyone is generous enough to want to make a small donation me and Mrs J will be very grateful and the Animals will love you for it.

Thanks to everyone.

@larbert toffee @COYBL25 As @jazzy is either too busy or too shy to mention the charity I'll tell you. I messaged him earlier to see how I could donate. It is the Carla Lane Animals in Need charity. They have a website and you can donate via that.
Thanks you so much.

I was actually otherwise engaged freezing my you know what's off welcoming people on the gate.

Genuinely humbled that my friends on here want to help.

Thanks!

I'm very lucky to call this place home Gwladys. Which is why making a decision on my long term future is so difficult. I've made a decision to stay down here for at least next year, and hopefully more friends and family will be able to make the journey down here to visit. It such a long car journey though. It doesn't help that the railway links are next to useless and Flybe, who used to service Newquay airport, went bust at the start of the pandemic. Half of the routes haven't been re-opened yet, including the bi weekly one from Liverpool.
Absolutely spot on Fred you have picked one of the most picturesque but remote and difficult to get to spots to live.

Could be worse you might have picked the Lizard or Roseland .

The new road from St Ives to Exeter should help.

My mum used to get the plane from Plymouth to Manchester but Plymouth Airport doesn't even exist now!

I know exactly what you mean Anj. We were on a Caribbean Christmas cruise once. For some reason we always seem to get friendly with certain types of cruiser. Cal used to jokingly call it picking up stray's, but basically it was usually women of around our own age who are on holiday with an elderly parent. We'd often meet up late evening once their parent had gone to bed. In this particular case it was a woman a bit younger than us who was on holiday with her daughter who was around 20, and utterly stunning. She was a student in London and modelled in her spare time, and was mixed race, the result of a fling her mother had with a Jamaican guy many years earlier. On the boat she used to do her own thing whilst her mum spent most evenings with us, but whenever we went ashore she was always with us. And just like you said, wherever we went, because she was with us we didn't want for anything. Local lads were falling over themselves, We got cheap sunbeds, drinks, the best tables if we went for a meal. And they were so obvious it was hilarious. There was one lad in Grenada who followed our taxi all the way back to port on his moped, just to get her phone number. lol I mean what else was he expecting. her mother was there FGS.
Brilliant!

Jazzy, I hope the weather has been good to you. This charity is very fortunate to have you and Mrs. J support and hard work because it sounds like she had a lot of kitchen work to do. What soup and sandwiches did she make? And did you manage to raise as much money as you wished? I noticed @anjelikaferrett posted information on the charity and will definitely look into it.
Thanks Sassy.

All the food she made ( and they sell)is vegetarian.

So.she made spicy lentil soup , various different sandwiches - egg mayo from our own hens , cheese and tomato , humus and carrot on pitta. Also a veg goulash which was lovely and very warming as I froze my ***** off.

Not sure how much we raised in total but I took just over £500 on the gate.

Thanks for your interest.

Think staying for at least a year and give yourself time to adjust is a good decision. Hope your family and friends are able to visit, it’s a long journey but worth it and they get to sample your culinary skills.?

Just seen this …,,

I understand that Everton director of football Marcel Brands is leaving the club
So now we know who the scapegoat is.

TBH I'm not too bothered about this. In my opinion he hasn't been allowed to do his job properly anyway. I'm surprised he signed a new contract earlier this year. Not that it matters in the whole scheme of things but I would have more respect for the guy if he has walked rather than been pushed.

It's a good cause mate and most of us are animal lovers at heart. If it was in aid of the Mr & Mrs Jazzy gin fund I doubt you'd have got the same response. lol

But well done to you and your missus for giving up your time. You just need to talk her into the garden party for when we stay up now.

I'm coming up to Liverpool in January for a week, flying from Newquay to Manchester. Price isn't too bad but I had to book early because there were few seats left.
