Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Thanks Sassy.

All the food she made ( and they sell)is vegetarian.

So.she made spicy lentil soup , various different sandwiches - egg mayo from our own hens , cheese and tomato , humus and carrot on pitta. Also a veg goulash which was lovely and very warming as I froze my ***** off.

Not sure how much we raised in total but I took just over £500 on the gate.

Thanks for your interest.
The contents of your previous post have just sunk in mate. Is your missus Carla Lane's sister?

No no.
The Carla Lane thing is a bit of a red herring.

So the rescue was always called Animals in Need.

Then , about 12 years ago I think Carla decided to wind down her own rescue down South and had to divest the assets to another charity.

She and her family carried out some due diligence and decided to partner with AiN.

We got a very modest amount of money and agreed to change the name of the Rescue to include her name but she was never a trustee or took a active part in the rescue.

I met her a couple of times and she was lovely.

Think staying for at least a year and give yourself time to adjust is a good decision. Hope your family and friends are able to visit, it’s a long journey but worth it and they get to sample your culinary skills.?
One of the two lads who has just visited is quite reserved when it comes to food. He likes his meat and 2 veg. He'd never ever go for a curry and it was one of Cal's goals to get him to eat one of ours. Well it was partly a success. He ate both the chicken and mushroom curry dishes I prepared and even admitted enjoying them. He drew the line at eating rice though, so i had to do some chips for him. Sacrilege. lol

I had a steak there for him if he refused to try the curry, but to his credit he didn't put up much of a fight. He's 60 next year.

Looks like Brands has gone. I'm not sad, was never sure where he fitted in and some of the players he bought have been utter dross. maybe I'm a bit old fashioned but I've never liked the whole Director of football position.
It will only work if he's given full control of the footballing side and he never was Anj. Having an interfering owner didn't help.

Had me going for a moment there. Never met the lady but I know she was into animal rights.

Cal was brought up in the road where Bread was set, and of course she was also a Liver bird, so we had fond links to Carla.

Yummy. I love lentil soup. All those vegetarian option for sandwiches sound delicious. I would have been happy with any of the choices so I’m sure the people that ate Mrs. J food were very satisfied too. Sounds like a good amount and maybe the amount will be higher once some people from the forum also donate to the cause.

Just for those of you who expressed a interest Animals in Need made about £3800 today at their Christmas fair.
Bloody hard work but we'll worth it when you get a result like that.

Good night everyone and sleep tight , especially you Messy. Hope you are following all the kindness that your thread has inspired mate.
Wow, that’s brilliant. Congratulations to all concerned.
