Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I think the NW is the only place where I've heard a roll referred to as a barm cake. Do they still call them stotty's in the NE @anjelikaferrett ?

Do you have a name for them @Gwladysover ?

I went to watch Altrincham FC play a couple of years ago and because I’d got used to the rest of the country giving them different names I asked at the snack-bar for a chip batch, “I can do you a chip barm cake love” said the woman behind the counter.

I’ve owned two jaguars, both XJ’s from new and did over 100k miles in both. The only issue I had in all that time was on the first one when a radiator hose went on the motorway and it went into limp home mode which got me to a jaguar dealer where I bought another and left it there for repair while I continued my journey. I gave the repaired XJ to one of my sons and it and its replacement never gave any further issue. I had far more trouble with a BMW 7series than I ever did with Jaguars…..
It seems the Jag forums must be like the Everton ones ,the only posters are fed up to their teeth .lollollol

Just to add to this , we have our own local speciality “ the belly button softie” , people come from miles around to purchase!

The Home Bakery in Buckie also has the same type of oven, which is where people famously pick up their belly button rolls today.
A worker from The Home Bakery told us: "They are a soft roll with a slightly sweeter taste to a normal roll. As they contain a higher sugar content.
"They are also fired off [in] a different way using a more traditional oven to modern day ones. They are stabbed before they are put into the oven giving them the belly button look."
