Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this cloudy day here in Finland .I hope all are well after a good night and have a fine day today . I feel we shpuld be looking at Lee Carsley as the next manager and that the Yanks will have Sean out before his feet touch the floor if they get that far . So it was the Jag battery yes the new one that was the problem starting the car ,now it is back to the wiring loom with I hope a little more sucess .The diagram shows two wires for the fog lights but I cannot see them ,there are seven wires and all are allocated to other things !-Yes @Barnfred 55 ,I know my glasses are fogged up !
Have a great day all .COYB
We tried the Reckoning and got five minutes in before the wife said no more .
Have you ever thought of doing something radical Blue like buying a new car that you don't have to tinker with?
Might give you more time to hunt for mushrooms and pick berries 🍒.
Agree with you and the other sentiments re Carsley btw.

Morning everyone. I do hate international football and in particular international breaks from the premier League. Still at least Everton can't lose this weekend and can't say I'm looking forward to next week's walloping against the RS , at least that rat Robertson is out injured so I guess international football is good for something.

Anyway lots of gardening planned for the weekend , starting with moving a 10 foot foxglove tree . Should be fun!

Well whatever you do mascoteers have a lovely weekend.

Good morning all, looks like a bright start to the day although the rain woke me in the night rattling the windows. Ended up in the Lake District yesterday Grasmere - very pretty, and Bowness - also lovely but a bit busier. Proper big coat weather too. I feel very lucky to live in the NW as we are so close to so many lovely places for days out.
Don’t bother with MBF Greek Wedding 3 as the best thing about it was hearing the cicadas and looking at the scenery. To address the balance we watched Captain Correli’s Mandolin for the 7millionth time. It’s inspired me to start a new spreadsheet and get planning next years island hop - I’m finding the flight prices massively more expensive for next summer but it is what it is.
Usually of late I‘very been a bit relieved not to have Everton in my weekend but due to our upturn I’m feeling like I will miss it today. I see our game against Man U has been moved to Sunday evening - is this the worst time to have a game? It just doesn’t feel right to me.
have a great Saturday everyone 💙

I’m not really a whisky person, I enjoy some Penderyn a Welsh whisky, but this stuff of yours Fred always tastes like Dettol to me…horrible stuff….
Morning all. Pete , I did a check of my whisky cabinets last week , it seems I have three bottles of Penderyn, two opened ( different casks) and one untouched. People have bought them for me over the years , usually birthdays, one is a special edition “ Rugby Grand Slam “ bottling. It’s a nice whisky , but I have to be honest and admit to my Scottish friends that there are better Scottish single malts .

Have a great weekend everybody.

We did Rugby, football, cricket in turn through the 3 terms at school. I’ve been on many rugby trips/ tours over the years, including Canada and USA following Wales and at this time of year my Facebook has wonderful memories of the rugby World Cup , including 4 weeks in New Zealand 12 years ago and 4 weeks in Japan in 2019. And I’ve made some life long friends. So my weekend will be dominated by the RWC , wonderful 🙂
Brilliant. Enjoy. I have never got into Rugby Union but have a very soft spot for Rugby League. Five years working in Warrington developed that interest. The Monday morning match chat was always about the fortunes of Warrington, Saints, Wigan, Widnes etc.

What islands are in your initial thoughts Val?

Good morning all. I feel like I've had an enormous lie in even though it was 8.30 when I got up. Lovely - same again tomorrow.
I cant be doing with whisky at all but I do have fond memories of drinking Welsh whisky. I had a colleague who was a union rep from Swansea. One of the cleverest people I have ever met. She once stood as the Labour candidate for Gower and lost by 27 votes. After our meetings and after the obligatory post meeting pub visit we would go back to the hotel and somewhere between the hotel lobby and the lift she would say to me and another colleague ( Birkenhead rep) 'Fancy a night cap" Of course we never said no. We would go to her room, she would pull a bottle of Penderyn out of her bag and we would usually end up being there until the early hours. Happy days.
I'm away to the gym again. I've decided I'm going to do our two PT sessions and then two extra cardio sessions on my own.
I'm missing Everton this week but don't want it to be next weekend with the inevitable defeat. Klopp has very cleverly ensured that they are immune from dodgy decisions so you know what will happen - a feather from a passing pigeon will lightly brush Salah's cheek, he falls to the ground - penalty. Hmm. Maybe that will be my Mrs Angry gym motivation today🤣.
Other than that no plans. Very lazy day. I'll probably watch the India v Pakistan cricket match. They are expecting a sell out crowd of 132,000. Going to see a cricket match in India is on my list of 'Things to do when you win the lottery'

I’m torn really. I feel like I ought to try some new ones but there are others which I really love and always want to go back to. So initial thoughts are possibly Amorgos, Koufonisia, Schinousa, Iraklia, with a couple of nights in Naxos Town, and the necessary overnight in Mykonos due to flight times. I want to go back to Koufonisia before it gets commercialised - there are little signs of that happening which makes me sad but I get why. But I also feel we ought to do the Dodecanese sometime, and I’ve always wanted to go to Kastelorizo but it’s such an outlier and a pain to get to. I’ve looked at Lesbos following your recommendation but again it looks like the type of island which you should do a full holiday on and it looks a bit remote from other islands - but I’d be happy to be corrected on that.
Flights to Athens are significantly cheaper than to Mykonos by the looks of it but you have to offset that with ferry costs and overnight in Pireaus- I need a few hours of proper planning time and I’m sure my head will have exploded by the end of it 😂

Well done with the gym - you are putting me to shame 👍

I'm totally with you on watching cricket in India. Been many times but never managed to catcg a match.

I did manage to watch a couple of overs ( just walked in no need to pay ) of the U19 World Cup in St Lucia . Another place where I'd like to watch a proper game. Relaxing in the sun with a rum puch and Buttler hitting sixes ! Heaven

Whatever rocks your boat ,eat what you enjoy is the way to success as you lost so much weight doing exactly that . The food you cooked was great ,although the fish and chips I got firstly had chips and secondly weren't cooked by you .I still think of that steak and ale pie with great affection .
Encouraging to know that your most memorable meals are the 2 occasions when we ate out.😀

Oh yes to the West Indies as well. It's a shame they are so rubbish now. I have very fond memories of seeing the likes of Roberts and Greenidge turning out for their counties against Lancashire when they played at Liverpool Cricket Club. Not forgetting our own Clive Lloyd.
