Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

@anjelikaferrett how carap are Englands ODI team? They've turned into the Everton of cricket lol
Absolutely shocking. I was listening to it while I was working. I think Buttler is similar to Root. Good cricketer but rubbish captain. They need a miracle to qualify. We only have to beat India, Australia, The Netherlands ( doable) and Pakistan 🤣 and hope others lose.

I abhor swearing and will not tolerate it from anybody if my wife or a lady is in earshot. In five years of owning a pub the only person that I have barred was for swearing while my wife was there. I asked him not to do it, he swore, I warned him not to do it, he swore, so I banned him for life…
There is running a tight ship and then there is banning someone for swearing in a pub!

Probably the only time I swear is watching Everton lol.
However different strokes for different people. Generally I like to show tolerance but I'm with Pete that I hate it when I hear swearing around women especially older women. ( That said I employed some female solicitors who could put a sailor to shame when it comes to fing and blinding.)

In the particular instance that Pete related - it's his pub and his rules ( as long as it's not discriminatory!

I think the Irish are very relaxed with the old swearing. ‘Tis just another word after all.

I would moderate around older females though, to give them their place to swear first.

Just had my first sip of the Lebanese wine.
It's described as rich and full bodied.
To my palate it's smooth , fruity and light (@Barnfred 55 would hate it ). However I only opened it 45 minutes ago and haven't decanted it.
Let's see how it goes.
Had Lebanese Poitin once, brought home by a mate who served there. I remember nothing except drinking it.

People swear, but mostly in jest. If anyone swears in front of my wife I will suggest they don’t, in as nice away as possible. The guy in question was swearing in an aggressive manner and continued even when pulled up. It’s a small intimate pub, customers don’t want it, it’s offensive to most ladies on a night out, and even though it would no longer even register with my wife, I think it shows a lack of respect. Harsh maybe, but that’s the standard we apply….

Edit… even some of our male customers were unhappy and would willingly have thrown him out….
