Had a good day today, Range Rover went in for an MOT and service and I had the two steps/running boards replaced as they’d seen better days. Wife and son took my granddaughter home after school and I even managed to play dominoes in the pub. It’s the simple things in life that keep you going. Mrs PB is now fast asleep and I will be too shortly. Goodnight everyone…sleep tight…..
Isn't a moggy a mouse in Wigan?Jiggered is a word that I use too! As did my dad and nanna - used here in the context of being tired out. I remember my dad coming in from work and saying “I’m absolutely jiggered “. It’s funny how words mean different things in different places. Poor Minnie, lots of cuddles and treats needed
We have a lady whose father was Lebanese they gave us some wine years ago ,I thought you might like it as it seemed very French to us , we are not fans of the ones we have tasted ,as you might have guessed we like Italian full bodied ones . Good luck with your back ,if it is as mine it will just be gone one morning as you wake .

Anyway Valerie was admiring something that my mother thought was horrible and grossly overpriced. She said to her "Are you mad?" Valerie responded"No, I'm not mad
In US mad is interpreted as being angry.
Similarly I was at the Oktoberfest in 87, and I was chatting to some Aussies and Kiwis at Thalkirchen campsite, where I was staying, and i said 'was really pi*sed last night to which they all replied 'oh. what happened to upset you mate?"
For antipodeans, it means angry or fed up. For me it was the explanation for my hangover.
