Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Thanks Sassy. It's a turkey without the legs or wings. We all prefer breasts in our house.

*waits for @Barnfred 55 to logon
I'm a leg man. But in Sassy's case I may have to make an exception. lol

I'm actually having breast this Christmas because my neighbours are having a crown too. But they are doubling up on the bacon rolls and pigs in blankets, so that will keep me happy. In fairness she did ask if I wanted them to get turkey leg in. but not wanting to be any trouble I of course said no.

Bloody hell mate that's no age at all. I thought you were going to say 60s or 70s.

I know it shouldn't really make any difference but in my mind it always makes it worse when you get a debilitating illness younger.
I feel the same, isn't right is it but then much worse happens too people much younger than me, it's the hand I've been dealt I suppose.

Where are you going Anj and who with ?

We've done loads of cruises....I'm sure you will love it.

Oh and they have a gym on board!
We are going with Costa Cruises. I've been assured by my friends who have done loads of Cruises with all different lines that Costa are very laid back and informal. We start in Barcelona and then it is eight days around the Med. We go to Majorca, Marseilles, Sicily and two other places in Italy before back to Barcelona. Might not be innthat exact order.

Assuming you're now back from your lunch Jazz, I was just wondering how copious was copious. :)

Where did you go for lunch. Somewhere local or into Southport/Liverpool?
Far less copious than I imagined Fred. Age is clearly catching up with me , just 3 glasses of Pinot Grigio , mind you as soon as we got home I opened a bottle of Chateau Neuf du Pape.

We went to the Fat Italian in Burscough. Big open airy restaurant that felt quite covid safe ( who the hell knows now ).

Food not Masterchief standard but very tasty and excellent value.

Happy bunny me.

It’s a great spot in here mate, real friendly bunch. It’s a real enduring legacy to Messy that it shall continue on with the same spirit.

You mentioned early you were sporty before your condition, what did you play?
I played football mate until work got in the way about 30. Enjoyed a game of badminton now and again as well. I was just a bit of a cardio machine, I did weights as well but not body building so I had a fairly athletic physique, not that it did me any good, mind you putting 6 stone on probably didn't help either which I since lost again.

Glad you enjoyed it mate.

I had a nice day prior to going shopping. We went down to Lizard village to get our pasties, then took them down to Lizard point where we sat out on a bench and ate them. Luckily the gulls left us in peace, and we were fortunate enough to see a grey seal swiimming amongst the rocks.

We then went down to Kynance Cove (not sure if you've ever been there Jazz). We didn't go down to the beach itself but stayed up in the cliffs overlooking it. It really is beautiful down there and is probably Cal and my favourite place in the whole world. Unbeknown to me it is also where my neighbour scattered his mother's ashes so we were both having a bit of an emotional moment. Coming back along the approach road we came across a farmer walking a cow and her little calf. Turns out it was only a day old and he'd decided to take it back to shelter in the farm biuldings. It was so cute.

He then said he wanted to show me the house where his mum used to live in a place called Mullion Cove, another of the many places in Cornwall we loved. After she died it was converted into 4 holiday lets and we actually stayed in one of them about 10 years ago. Small world.

Anyway, all my food shopping is now done for the Christmas period, aort from my Rick Stein sausages which I'll pick up from the local store tomorrow.

What about right back now mate?

You sound like ones of those naturally fit fellas who it just all came naturally to. I used to hate seeing them disappear into the distance in cross country at school ?
