Since January 1, 2024 in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta, there have been 977 wildfires burning a total of 550,176 hectares (ha). Last year, on this date, there were 915 wildfires that burnt a total of 2,178,1482,178,074 ha.

Jaz this is happening a lot more every year, mostly started by lightning hits, we have so much forestry here , we heard half of Jasper has burned down very sad , people have lost everything

Morning everyone,

Lovely start to the day. Chores done yesterday so it's all gravy today.

Off to the gym in a minute and then taking Mrs J out for a coffee and looking for some garden furniture.

A relaxing afternoon beckons with a few glasses of vino . It's a Greek theme to today's dining with a Greek salad and then Gigantes in keeping with the weather.

Unsure if I will watch the Paris opening ceremony and if I'm being honest I'm pretty underwhelmed by the Olympics nowadays. I'll watch the table tennis of course and probably the cycling, boxing and athletics but that's about it.

The dressage video is disgusting but only to be expected by posh , entitled gobshites. The concept of whipping a horse to make it do ballet is mind blowing. What next in the Olympics, Dancing bears ?

Mind you don't get me started on break dancing in the Olympics 😂 , just madness.

Talking of distressing videos , the one from Manchester Airport, bloody hell !

Anyway, whatever you are doing have a lovely day everyone.

Morning Blue, I had a good couple of hours thanks. The sun is shining, my wife is fast asleep having changed her again, and I shall be joining her in the land of Nod……

It’ll be wine tasting or beer drinking events twenty years from now…hundred yard dash to the bar, extra points for eating a bag of crisps while running….GB should pick up a few Gold…….

That copper should be put in a cell with some of the resident "gentlemen " as I am sure they would love to welcome him ,there is no justification for that .I witnessed a similar thing as a lad where a gang of mods set upon a "rocker " ,a memory I will carry for life .

Absolutely no justification, a shocking thing to do as you say, but also no justification for head butting a female officer just doing her job. I think there’s a bit more to this that we will probably never find out.

Ah Ok I didn't see that ,I just found a clip on the news . On the clip I watched he was already face down on the floor .Butting a lady is justification then .
