Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. Happy International Dog’s Day! Dogs are my therapy and here’s a pic of one of my favourite rescue dogs. The expression on his face is priceless and shows that for some dogs, rescue is the best option 💙🐾
Well you can't get more international than these 2 ...Tintin the white boy is from Bulgaria and naughty Rosie the black girl is from Bosnia.1000013050.webp

Happy Bank Holiday everyone.

@Val P good luck with your holiday preparations, which lesser know islands are you gracing with your presence this time ?

@Armaghtoffee such a sad story , I'm sure your friend will be a huge loss to the community.

@Terrarian good to have you back posting fella , I'm sure there's no "plodding" when you are out with that gorgeous Daisy despite Fred's helpful advice 😂.

Improving weather forecast for today but I've got bloody sciatic pain , just in time for the start of the new table tennis season so no practice this week and minimal gardening too which is even more of a pain. Might have to nick Granny's painkillers.....only joking.

Everton news is unremittingly grim so I might try to do a Fred and just ignore it.

Whatever you do, have a lovely day everyone.
Nowhere remote this time - off to Zante for a reunion with a group of friends. Although it has a reputation as being a party island there are some amazingly beautiful and quiet bits. We’ve been going for 25 years now and stay in a little place called Porto Roma. This pic is my favourite place to have a lazy lunch

Haven't been to Zakynthos in years. Think we stayed in Nidri last time. Have a wonderful time.

I don’t want this to be a sad post. I have referenced it before a young lad from our club we were fundraising for his treatment. Raised over £300k for him to go to Germany.

His journey came to an end on Friday and we bury him tomorrow. I hit the drink then but amongst mates. Still hitting it.

In the run up to the All Ireland final, his Dad spoke to the team and his talk to them has been referenced by quite a few of lads. Our manager has said that he would have been part of the team had life not dealt him an awful blow. He still got Sam Maguire on his knee and celebrated like we all did and still are

Absolutely blessed to have known the lad.
Sure you will give your friend the send off he deserves. The support generated by his his story is inspiring and uplifting.💙

That's so sad. Cherish your memories x

As our much missed @roydo said. Most people are decent and will help you if they can. It’s so important we do all we can to know your neighbours and foster community spirit. Make a special effort for anyone new and help them see a local bond and safe place.
I completely agree with this. Most people are good.

Well mate yesterday afternoon I watched a YouTube feed of Everton u17s winning the Geneva Cup Tournament on penalties . The celebrations of our youngsters at the end was glorious and uplifting , and brought a big smile to my face 😃

This from another thread.
