Great to hear from you T but yeah just ignore the footballHi everyone, hope you're not too disheartened about the football.
I'm trying to get myself back into the swing of posting but it's not happening at the minute. Feeling stressed a lot still, just trying to keep my mental health above the parapet.
Take care guys and enjoy the bank holiday.
Caolan Finnegan: Crossmaglen footballer dies after cancer battle - BBC Sport
Crossmaglen gaelic footballer Caolan Finnegan dies a year after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.www.bbc.com
I don’t want this to be a sad post. I have referenced it before a young lad from our club we were fundraising for his treatment. Raised over £300k for him to go to Germany.
His journey came to an end on Friday and we bury him tomorrow. I hit the drink then but amongst mates. Still hitting it.
In the run up to the All Ireland final, his Dad spoke to the team and his talk to them has been referenced by quite a few of lads. Our manager has said that he would have been part of the team had life not dealt him an awful blow. He still got Sam Maguire on his knee and celebrated like we all did and still are

To add, because I missed the point of what I was trying to convey. I saw fundraising for Caolan personally in Monaghan; Cork; Carlow; Derry; Sligo and Dublin at the games. Then the wider GAA community got involved and it became a social media thing of high profile Gael’s sending video messages to him. All of a sudden our town became a country wide support base of good wishes, prayers and donations towards treatment. That makes you reflect on the good around you and all you have to do is ask for help if you need it.Sometimes life really is crap towards those that deserve better…..
