Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I don’t want this to be a sad post. I have referenced it before a young lad from our club we were fundraising for his treatment. Raised over £300k for him to go to Germany.

His journey came to an end on Friday and we bury him tomorrow. I hit the drink then but amongst mates. Still hitting it.

In the run up to the All Ireland final, his Dad spoke to the team and his talk to them has been referenced by quite a few of lads. Our manager has said that he would have been part of the team had life not dealt him an awful blow. He still got Sam Maguire on his knee and celebrated like we all did and still are

Absolutely blessed to have known the lad.
I saw this a couple if days ago mate and was going to ask if you knew him well. Crossmaglen player I think it said. Very sad.

Hi folks. We did go to Redcar today. We played crazy golf - I lost. I reckon I played a Rory McIlroy type of round - two or three holes that absolutely blew it for me. We then walked along the seafront, in the rain, and had fish and chips - also in the rain. A fun day was had by all.
Daughter has just come back from Nottingham- she had a good time with Chris and Sophie.
Back to work tomorrow but only a two day week.
Enjoy the rest of the Bank Holiday x

Pete’s anniversary has got me reminiscing on the way home from Warrington Rylands v Prescot Cables. We got married 33 years ago on Wednesday, the night before I went back to my mum’s house in Wavertree, left the future wife and our first son in Upton on the Wirral. Had a skinful in The Prince Alfred on Wavertree high st because they had Cains bitter , with my one mate who wasn’t on holiday. Next day at the registry office at Birkenhead town hall the registrar said “is this your best man ?” I said “ he’ll have to be , I didn’t know I’d need one”. Anyway last year our anniversary was “today” bank holiday Monday, I said “ have you got any plans for Monday ?” “Why ?” “Well, Prescot Cables are away at Bootle”. I got that look , 32 years I’ve put up with this simpleton 😀
