Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, well Saturday was a mixed day. I’ve had a few months of problems when one of my BP meds was changed, fatigue, dizziness when running, complete lack of energy, so I ditched one a few weeks ago trying to get back to normal. I did a 1/2/marathon Saturday morning around an old RAF airfield, and really enjoyed the challenge - not everybody’s choice I know 🙂. Then headed off home for Buckie’s match against league leaders Brechin, which although a good game they lost 2-0. As I headed away with 2 minutes to go I was consoling myself with Everton’s score . …. say no more. Such a bummer end to the day 🙁, after 60 odd years of support you’d think I’d be immune by now 🤷‍♂️

Morning all, miserable day here more thunder forecast but still v warm. Off to get some euros today and possibly a last minute handbag. Got a bargain pair of Birkenstocks at Cheshire oaks yesterday- they must be the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned - a sign of advancing years.
Interesting to read about your blood pressure meds @blueloon, that sounds similar to me and I’ve had a couple of episodes of light headedness at the gym. I’ve got my annual review when I get back off my hols so I will be having that conversation.
Have a good Monday everyone.

Could be worse mate. In the international break I likely see Ireland get thumped by England. Football misery is incessant for me now 😀
Who actually cares about international football? I certainly don't AT.

I've never been to an England game and never will . My image of England growing up in the 70s and 80s hooliganism is forever tarnished. As Paul Weller put in I imagine that the hooligans supporting England "Smelt of pubs and Wormwood Scrubs and too many right wing meetings"

Mind you I'm delighted that Everton can't wreck next weekend

I'm on BP meds too but I'd be very reticent about changing the prescription without consulting with the doctor. Be careful BL.

Definitely noticed on here that the Irish lads seem to support the national team more than the English folk do. Maybe helps that my earliest Ireland football memories were the excitement of Euro 88 and Italia 90 when we were actually decent (results wise anyway).

These BP changes have been going on for 8 months via phone calls from a pharmacist, she added one when nothing was changing, it worked really well and infact lowered into the 120s . But even my resting heart rate was raised , I stuck it for 5 weeks, it was affecting my life so I dropped the “ new” one and spoke to her on the phone two days later. She was surprised I’d stuck it that long , ( I wanted to see if body would adjust) , said” ok , contact me if your BP rises” and off she went to her next phone call after 5 minutes chat. While my lifestyle is good I did a bit more research and have added a banana a day, even lower salt intake , more fluids etc. So far so good, as expected it’s gone up but still lower than it was 2 months ago. I’m due a full check up next month so will see then.
With apologies to others, this probably belongs in the “ Oldies” thread 😂

The darker mornings haven’t wasted any time in rolling back in. Always makes it a lot harder getting out of bed but you would think we would be used to it by now.

It doesn’t look like Dyche is an inch closer to the trapdoor after that debacle on Saturday. He seems to be slowly unravelling with increasingly less thinly veiled digs at fans and players. His complete lack of personal accountability for anything will be his eventual downfall.

Morning all. Overcast and cloudy again. Yep it’s noticeably darker first thing @Armaghtoffee, School run again as school starts back today for grandson and on his birthday too. :(. It’s not too bad for him as they are only going for half-days this week. This is to help them ease back into school after the long summer break!!!!! What on earth? I could understand it for the new starters but is it necessary for the older ones? I wouldn’t want to go back to my grandparents schooldays, or mine for that matter, my time at grammar school was horrible but when my Grandad was Harry’s age he had already been at work nearly four years. I think the pendulum may have swung too far.
Have a good day, all💙
