I really feel for the working parents when all this phasing into school is going on. I know that new schools can be daunting but as you say, no reason for doing it for the older kids used to it all. No exactly preparation for later life for the kids either I might add.Morning all. Overcast and cloudy again. Yep it’s noticeably darker first thing @Armaghtoffee, School run again as school starts back today for grandson and on his birthday too.. It’s not too bad for him as they are only going for half-days this week. This is to help them ease back into school after the long summer break!!!!! What on earth? I could understand it for the new starters but is it necessary for the older ones? I wouldn’t want to go back to my grandparents schooldays, or mine for that matter, my time at grammar school was horrible but when my Grandad was Harry’s age he had already been at work nearly four years. I think the pendulum may have swung too far.

All is good except my memory ,nothing much happening so I was busy sculpting a mortar for my neighbour with an angle grinder ! It is actually deeper than this photo but now it is dark here .She wanted one to process her crops and seeds ( she has a small farm as a hobby ,I did mention she specialises in peppers last year )

Good morning all on this fine day here ,we are expecting 25 again today .I hope all had a good night and have a lovely day today . I was kind of hoping Kevin would have pulled the trigger but I understand why he has not .There are more important things in our lives than Everton F.C.
We are out foraging again this afternoon as well as our normal visit to see horses that have spent the summer grazing our neighbours field we take them apples from our tree ,carrots from Lidl and stale rye bread which they all love ,that leaves space in my rucksack for foraging !
We normally find Mushroom shaped mushrooms but this year it is too dry so we are limited at present to forest mushrooms where they get a little more moisture (which seems strange on the face of it because the trees need the water ) as it doesn't suffer the same evaporation .

Oh wouldn't it be nice if some of them were of the "magic" variety and caused you to think that we were back in the mid 80s
They are all around us here .Sadly I have never tried them as the eighties were good for me .
