I apologise about my imprudence. Those are the sort of mistakes that I made with the English language. For some reason in my head, town and city are synonymous ?Armagh is a City I shall have you know ?. Well, an ecclesiastical city to be precise.
I live south of there, very close to the border.
Yes I was aware of the Irish links to Colombia and I will explain how. A family tree search (done professionally) revealed that I had a relation who fought in the Spanish Civil War and that sparked my interest in where else Irish fought in world conflicts. Seems like we liked to put ourselves about a bit ?
Nice. I have been doing my own research after my daughter became best friend to a girl whose parents have Irish roots and that's how I began reading about it. It seems the Irish contribution was significant enough that Bolivar dedicated part of his victory speech to thank them. Unfortunately, it is a part of history that I never learned while living in Colombia but having Irish friends has enlighten me about this part of my country's history.
