Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

@Sassy Colombian
What’s going on here mate ?

Richarlison also gave an interview in recent days where he discussed James departure and Digne's and how it took a toll on the morale of the team. Benitez did more serious damage than just leaving us at the bottom of the table ?

Thanks @Bluerover I'm glad you know your history and are sharing it with us.

What's the history with the dark side and why it is difficult to understand Irish following them?
When we moved away we left behind a bigoted anti-Catholic Houlding and his first manager of the rs, McKenna, although from Monaghan, was also an Orangeman.

It would take too long to explain about the Orange Order, that is why I suggested you Google the history.

While Everton was open to all, for some decades the rs did not welcome Irish Catholics.

There is still a hardcore contingent in the rs support although I think it is diminishing.

I know an Irish rs who got abused by his fellow rs fans some years ago when they discovered he was from the Republic of Ireland.

I have never met anything like that in all the years I have followed Everton. I have met all sorts of people who follow the Blues but never seen any animosity towards us.

Hello friends.

I hope everyone that's dealing with the high winds manages to stay safe. I've never realized that you all have to deal with such bad storm winds, those can be such scary experiences and so rough on our houses. I'll be thinking of you throughout the day and would keep an eye on your updates.

Here in Asheville is a cold morning -2°C and still very dark but it is supposed to warm up near 15°C, all week it is going to be super cold in the mornings but we will have spring temperatures by midday along with some rain. That's usually the weather pattern in Asheville during this time of the year, it teases you with warm spring temperatures at the end of February but winter is far from over for us and then once March comes it hits us with frosty and snowy weather again.

This week I have to stop in person by the College to sign the papers for my new position, I'm super excited about it but today I've also began feeling nostalgic about leaving my current department and team. I have the best boss and coworkers and they have been my working team for the past four years so I'm going to miss them so much. I have yet to tell anyone that I gotten the job, HR asked me to wait until I sign the papers before notifying any of my co-workers. This week I'm also going have to go to my old office and clean up, I don't go often to campus because my job since the pandemic began has been fully remote, but this new position is not. So I'll have to switch offices and I'll probably start going to campus regularly once I change jobs. It is going to be such a big change for our family but I'm ready for the challenge.

Happy week everyone! xxx
Onwards and upwards Guapa You don’t lose the real friends and there are new ones to
Make

Would he come back? New manager. Fans like him.
Not sure they all do mate. There were loads on here, and I mean loads, who were more than happy to accept all the rhetoric going around about him wanting out, disrespecting the club and being on £250k a week. It was all BS of course but lots of people were willing to believe it. I'm actually quite ashamed of the way our club treated him. It was mainly Benitez of course but he wasn't solely to blame.

Despite my earlier misgivings about the weather I ventured out to the gym this morning.

Huge flooding and tree damage locally but fortunately none to the Jazzy small holding.

Stopped raining now and the wind has dropped a little but still some big gusts.

Playing last ping pong league match of the season tonight ( Cup starts next week ) . I wonder given that we wo the league last week whether we will get a guard of honour as we enter the hall tonight... perhaps not!

Not heard from many of the usual gang today so hope @Barnfred 55 , @anjelikaferrett , @Gwladysover and everyone else are OK.
I’m okay thanks, J. Just catching up with you all now as things been a bit hectic so far, helping to repair fence along with usual chores. Also my elderly neighbour rang to say she was worried about a phone call she’d received about her washing machine insurance. Turned out they were scammers, she thought they were genuine at first as she has washing machine insurance so gave her bank card details but fortunately refused to give her date of birth. I called the bank and no money was taken because one of the security questions is date of birth which of course they didn’t have. B*st***s!

Can't remember whether I mentioned that my washing machine packed in the other week. Well finally got around to ordering a new one. The full linen basket gave me a prompt. It's coming on Friday but I should have enough pairs of clean undies to see me through until then. Such things were always Cal's domain; she just needed my credit card to pay for them. lol. Welcome to my new world.

Okay, I’m going to take your advise and Google it and read more about it. But thanks for telling me about it here. I didn’t realize the discrimination Irish Catholics suffered by the rs. Such animosity doesn’t belong in sports or any aspect in life. No wonder why they the rs and their fans have such a bad reputation.
