Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

It is the weekend friends and not only did I survive my first week performing my new job but I’m already loving it. My job advising is very sedentary, I spent a lot of time in front of the computers and on the phone, especially since the pandemic began. But this new position has me out and about, this week i went around town meeting community partners. And today I visited our other college campuses that are located about 30 minutes from town and I got to drive through the beautiful country side and the mountains. All this week the weather has continued to be absolutely gorgeous, trees are flowering and it feels like spring. Hopefully stays like this but I’m afraid it is going to get cold again but hopefully not. I just got home a bit ago and had my first drink of the week, and a well deserved one. Now I have jump in the jacuzzi to relax for a bit. My daughter is going to spend the weekend at her best friend’s house because it is her birthday so the husband and I are having the weekend to ourselves, which is very nice as the last time that happened was when we went to Mexico for our anniversary. That’s all from me, at least for now. I may be posting again after I’m a bit tipsy and tell you all again how much I love you and ho grateful I’m that Karl brought us together ?

Just for you Sassy
Awe, thanks Jazzy! No only do you have a lovely garden but also a gorgeous farm, and I would have said lucky you but I know this wasn’t luck it was all hard work. Do you have names for each of your animals? When we had chickens we had a name for each of them, one was Petunia, Rosita, Alcaparra and Big G lol

Mrs. J is beautiful, lucky you ?

Yes the animals have names. Barnaby and Muffin the sheep and Parsly and Sage the pigmy goats. I'm sure she has names for the chickens but I can never remember them.

They are all pets! All the animals were rescued from abuse or destruction.
For instance Barnaby was hept in a petting farm for kids. When he got too old and not cute enough the farm wanted to destroy him so we took him in. No one really knows how long sheep live because no one keeps them as pets. We think that the last one we had was about 12cwhen she died.
The pygmies were really badly abused and wild when we rescued them but they are quite tame now and allow us to hand feed them.

You are a animals savior, how fortunate of these animals that you and Mrs. adopted them. Even though they are pets did you mention before about the chickens laying eggs and getting sheep milk?

Morning all ,yet another day for the poor Ukranian people to endure ,I think the west have thrown them under the bus and won't act until the devil tries it on an ally. What a sad state of affairs .
I hope all have a great day .
Just when I thought spring was around the corner we got -15° this morning .
A balmy 0 in Armagh this morning but beautifully bright though.

You are right blue, the West won’t do anything until directly threatened. What they can do without triggering Armageddon is the conundrum though.

The problem is AT by doing nothing we are just kicking this can down the road.

Of course no course of action is without very significant risk but the thought that he can butcher an independent country and put in a puppet government is not only repugnant but allowed to go militarily unchecked is highly highly dangerous.

As sure as eggs are eggs once he's had this victory and a brief period of rest his gaze will turn to Moldova , Georgia perhaps even Finland and Sweden.

Where will it end. And his ego and sense of immortality will become even more out of control than it is at present.

Agree completely Jazzy. His expansionism must be stopped but doing so without effectively ending the world is where the West are boxed in. Our best hope remains that Putin is removed by whatever means necessary by his own people.

On a personal and vaguely related level, this conflict has brought home to me how little I know of that part of the world and it’s history. Plenty of reading to do and documentaries to hunt out to get me up to speed.

s I was reading today’s thread I was wondering the same, where are you @Barnfred 55 and why are you so quiet? Do I need to bring the whip out ?
You've been a bit quiet @Barnfred 55 is everything OK with you?
Barnfred 55 reporting in. lol

I'm absolutely fine guys but thanks for enquiring. Obviously upset with what's happening in Ukraine and totally stunned by the Shane Warne news, but apart from that it's business as usual.

You may not have noticed but I tend to feed off other people's posts. I actually popped into the thread several times throughout the day yesterday but there was nothing going on in here. Last night I was binge watching a TV series from a couple of years ago that I've been meaning to watch, called Normal people. It's set in Ireland and is a story about two young people who obviously love each other dearly, but don't know how to tell each other that, resulting in them splitting up all the time. It's quite slow moving and not my normal cup of tea, but the on screen relationship between the 2 young unknown stars makes it quite addictive watching. I'd certainly recommend it (on BBC!player) if you haven't seen it already. But be warned, it is quite raunchy at times.
