2019/20 Michael Keane

...i’m sure that under different circumstances, Brands would’ve permanently moved him on but we failed to secure Zouma or another CB on transfer deadline day. He’s only here because we are paper thin in central defence, although I imagine Brands will look to resolve that situation in January.

Not sure we would bin him off...i think we will sign a partner for Mina and have Keane as 3rd choice, more of a gradual farewell.

Id sell him myself while hes getting caps as his value surely wont be higher than now.

What do you think we could get for him?

...I ‘think’ that post of mine is in respect of Holgate, but I might be wrong.

I agree with you, i’d have Keane as 3rd choice and I wouldn’t be looking to move him on at this stage. Not sure of Keane’s value, but I suspect we’d make a decent profit on him.

Agree. If we sold Keane in January, we’d be looking to bring in 2 centre backs. Sanchez compliments Mina perfectly for Columbia because of the pace he possesses. A centre back with similar attributes would be ideal for us. I just think a Mina - Keane partnership lacks pace.

Kean isn’t going anywhere. The next cb we bring in will be 3rd choice. They will either towards the end of their career and cheap (Rojo) or more likely young with lots of potential.
Correct, not a chance we are going and bringing in another 1st or 2nd choice CB when we dont need one, and we dont. For me third choice, young with potential fits the Brands style perfect

That’s what I think. It’s the model we’re aiming for. We can already see next summers transfer requirements panning out. A young CB, a young LB to understudy Digne and a CF of some sort, probably a bit more experienced say 24/25.

We’ve already got a young centre back with massive potential in Lewis Gibson, I hope we go for Zouma in January.

Zouma isn't going to come here to sit on the bench and he knows he wont get a game ahead of Keane, right now Mina looks healthy.
Besides is he good enough? The form he has shown for Chelsea is terrible.

Forget Zouma, it was fun at the time but all parties have moved on

I haven’t seen any of Zouma’s games at Chelsea, agree with you it doesn’t look like he is having a good spell there up to now, however I saw Zouma play for Everton, I’ve also seen Mina and Keane, I rate Zouma ahead of both of them and think his speed will be missed as the season rolls on. I don’t rate Michael Keane and think a centre back will be added in January, I also think if Zouma is available Everton will bid for him.

You can add a winger to that too so we can bin off Walcott. And a number 10 type to challenge/take over from Gylfi.

Keane is going absolutely nowhere though, unless we get a ridiculous offer.

A young winger, yes. I think Iwobi may be no 10 cover. Brands has said he wants to get to a position where he is signing fewer first teasers. So nex summer I expect 4 max.

Is there any chance that those who haven't yet, can work out who is Keane and who is Kean? It's not really a spelling thing, it's making it clear who you're
talking about. And don't tell that this is the Keane thread - it's not the point.

You know there are more than 3 centre halves in the world right.
