Keanes been finished as a top level CB for at least 3 years, I don’t like going in on the fella but he’s mentally fragile and switches off constantly - he shouldn’t be playing top level football.

I thought Dyche had recognised this hence the reason why he was dropped last season and we played Mina and even Coady instead. We also know Godfrey and Holgate aren’t good enough, though Godfrey may come good?!?

What I don’t understand is, If you’re not willing to trust and play Branthwaite then you had to have signed/re-signed one of Mina or Coady or an other CB, due to the options you had.

It’s just negligence or arrogance - you’re not going to make Keane into a good CB - Pep wouldn’t be able to so what makes Dyche think he can?

When you're playing the most Important game in the clubs recent history, and you decide to leave out a player as you know deep down you can't trust him to help get you over the line.

You end up getting over the line and realise that you made the right decision.

What then changes in your mindset
That the certain player can be relied on,
When you know you're going into the following season in the same predicament. 🤔

If it's broke, don't fix it !!

( God, where's Jim when you need him !!

Yea mental
Who's Jim?

I genuinely thought for his own sake he would have asked for a transfer this summer and Dyche would have said yep, good idea for the sake of your career.

The minute he was starting games in pre season you knew Dyxhe had reverted to type.

Those mistakes yesterday won't even be the worse of what we'll see if he continues to be selected.

He's an awful defender and a walking mistake. One of the worst centre halves we've had and 6 years later and here we are 7 managers later and he's still getting minutes and sitting on a nice big massive contract thanks to Brands.

The fact that this man is on long-term lucrative contract at Everton, sums up perfectly how badly our club is run.
And it’s not just that. Big Mick is used so frequently as a media representative by the club it’s bizarre. I’m sure he’s a lovely guy and is well liked around the building, but it’s just so symbolic of how painfully unaware our club and board is that they think it’s what fans want to hear. He’s had some big moments for the club and is very good at a couple of things, but has proven to have zero mental fortitude and very little instincts required to play center half in this league, which combined with his incredibly slow speed has been a disaster over and over and over again.

The worry is we’ve had to watch Dyche work out (twice) that he isn’t good enough. And soon we are going to watch him work out that Godfrey isn’t good enough either.

Will be January before we target a CB.

I honestly hope he gets the Niasse treatment from whoever the next manager is, I want him to be under no illusions that he has no future at this club. Even Lampard was too kind to him by having him on the bench. Deserves to be frozen out completely, absolutely toxic presence at the club.

Potentially still got 22 months of him left at Everton
Help us 'betting on his own team to lose' you're our only hope. It would explain a hell of a lot and also do us a favour 😉.
Seems a lovely guy and a fantastic professional, then the game happens. He wasn't on his own at the weekend, but far and away he's the biggest liability and I think he drags most of our team down with him.

No point buying another CB if dyche continues to play Keane. Branthwaite is fit I believe?
We should buy one for when Dyche gets sacked because of the number of games that Keane costs us and the new manager that comes in has two eyes and no Burnley connections so wants to jib off Keane immediately.
